Late Nights and No Sleep (Aiden and Steph)

Aiden had been depressed lately. He had thought coming back to Pleasant would have been a good idea but it had been far from just that. He was up late again having not slept in a few days. His eyes were slowly getting worse on the bloodshot look. His hair was messy but apparently girls still seemed to have liked that. Aiden knew he was going to be able to stand another sleepless night laying in his bed staring at the ceiling. He was now alone in his apartment ever since his brother had moved in with his girlfriend. That had depressed him even more to see his little brother get the girl of his dreams and Aiden didn't even know where his had gone. No word or any contact what so ever with the amazing Steph. He had to get out of the apartment and clear his head.

He slipped out of his bed and pulled on some soccer shorts. He stumbled around in the dark not wanting to turn on the lights because they had been hurting his eyes lately. He put on an extra practice jersey that he had taken from highschool since he wasn't allowed to wear the college uniforms off campus. He slipped on his kleats and grabbed his keys. He yawned even if he didn't feel a hint of exhaustion as he took the steps by two and got to his car.

Aiden drove over to the university fields that always were a little tricky to get into but Aiden had perfected the art. He found the part of the fence that was the easiest to jump and hopped over it leaving his stuff on the field why he went to go find the power box to turn on the lights. He managed to get them on and started to do a few juggles with the ball after he had finished his stretching. He didn't have the desire for soccer like he had when he had been around Steph. It was gone now that he didn't have her to play with or banter her while they went one on one. He let a sad sigh slip from his lips as he thought of her again while he continued to do a series of juggles and then went to shooting.

Late nights were the only time that Steph had to herself since her days were packed running errands and helping with the high school soccer team, but when most people should be sleeping Steph found herself wandering around the campus looking at everything she could. Since she'd been abandoned by her best friend when he'd left, and after she'd found out Aiden had disappeared, there really was nobody else around for her to talk to. She walked up behind the fitness building and noticed the lights were on over the soccer fields. She was curious as to see why they were on, and decided to walk up and take a look. Maybe they were having a late night practice for a big game in the morning, but she hadn't heard any word of there being a game for at least another week.

The fence was locked which made it even that much more curious of her to know why the lights were on. Aiden and her had found a spot in the fence that was easy to jump, and she made her way over to it and jumped it with ease. She walked over wearing a white jersey t-shirt and some running shorts, and of course her usual adidas sneakers were on her feet. She saw a single figure in the distant side of the field, and she could swear it looked like Aiden from afar. She walked a bit closer and realized that it was in fact the man she'd gotten really close to for so long.

Walking a tad bit nervously, the butterflies seemed to be swarming in her stomach, over to about 10 feet from the man she cleared her throat to get his attention. "Aiden?" she managed to squeak out as she watched the figure stop doing what they were doing. Maybe she was wrong, maybe it wasn't him and she just thought it was. She'd find out any second.

Just as Aiden was about to shoot the ball he heard a familiar voice behind him. He had thought it was just in his head at first but then heard it again. He shot the ball and it hit the top of the post and came back at him. He caught it before turning to see Steph. His eyes widened, even though it hurt, and he couldn't believe she was standing right infront of him.
"Steph!" He said excitedly as he wrapped the tall girl in his arms and held her close. Though once noticing what he was doing he quickly released her, "Sorry." He muttered under his breath. He didn't know if Steph even liked him anymore. He knew he still felt the same and he probably always would. He had fought to get close to Steph and he didn't want it to slip so easily.
He placed the soccer ball back on the ground and rolled it under the ball of his foot. He couldn't believe this was happening. He had wondered where this girl had gotten too and now here she was standing infront of him. He had this excitement inside of him that he was pushing down because he didn't know how Steph would react to him or what her feelings would be. He kept his eyes down on the soccer ball for quite a while before finally raising them to look at the beautiful girl infront of him. "Looking beautiful as always." He said with a small yet still charming smile.

When the man had rushed her and held her tight she'd practically melted in his arms. She'd missed his tight embraces, but just as she was moving to get her arms around him as well he broke the hug. Feeling as though he'd been frightened she didn't want to make the situation any worse, so she kept her distance for the time being. "Don't be sorry," she murmered when she'd heard him mumble under his breathe. When she'd heard the compliment she couldn't help but get pink in the cheeks. "Thanks, and you're looking rather handsome yourself." she paused before she took another step towards him and smiled charmingly. "The question I have to ask you though is..." she paused trying to find the words to say to him. There were many questions she had for him right now, but only choosing one she blurted it out. "Why'd you let go so quick?" A small smirk grew on her face as she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "It would have been nice for me to return the hug..." she whispered into his ear. Yes, this had been missed the time she'd been away from him.

Aiden felt a wave of relief fall over him when she said it was ok. He had just thought that maybe she wouldn't have wanted him to be so close to her or something because maybe she had found someone. She was as beautiful as ever and he didn't even think it to be possible. He wouldn't be shocked if she said she had a boyfriend but he was praying to god she didn't. He felt himself blush as well but he did his best to hide it. He tensed up a bit as he saw her take a few steps forward and let her question linger. He grinned though as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around her waist instantly as she whispered in his ear. He felt relaxed though as she did this, "Sorry it's just we haven't seen each other in so long and...I don't know....Maybe you were with another guy which doesn't explain why you can't hug another guy but..yeah..i'm gonna stop rambling now." He said nervously as he had begun to stutter at the end for some reason. Steph had always made him nervous. He felt he had to be perfect around her because that's what she deserved. Not some babbling idiot.

"Even if I were with another guy..." she whispered before pulling her head back to look him into the eyes. "You don't think I would have hugged you back? You, Aiden Wright keeper of my heart for a while, just because I had another man. You're kidding me right?" she tried to hide how nervous she was right now. She wasn't saying yes or no to the other man comment though just yet, but instead backed up and shrugged her shoulders. "But fine, if you don't want me to touch you if I have another man...I guess you'd hate it if I did this...." she quickly went in, hand on the back of his neck, and pulled him in for a kiss. Whoa, when her lips pressed against his her knees got weak it seemed. This was absolutely perfect. Hopefully this had answered the `other guy` question he'd had, because obviously she wasn't one to cheat. In fact, she was one that did exactly what she could in order to get what she wanted, but she'd never scoop to any level that was lower than her morals and values.

She pulled back and just looked at his face with a somewhat confident smile right now. "Welcome back," she whispered since her voice had pretty much given up working. She couldn't believe she had just done that, and more importantly she couldn't believe that this man was standing right infront of her.

Aiden stood there nervously a she eyed her. He had a small smile on his lips as she continued on though felt his heart stop as she said he meant a lot to her. That made him feel like he was ontop of the world. He had only felt this way towards Steph and felt that Steph had never returned those feelings after the quick fights they had had and many other tangles in their relationship. Though as she stepped closer to him and left him with 'i guess you'd hate it if I did this' his body stiffened up. Though relaxed immediately as her lips hit his. He knew a lot about Steph and knew that she was never the type to cheat..ever. He kissed her back with an intensity that he had never felt before. Though as she took her lips from his he had a permanent grin on his face.

"Thanks..." He said his voice hoarse and deep as he kept his arms around her. "..I missed you so much Steph." He said holding her tighter and placing his face inbetween her shoulder and her neck. He couldn't believe something good was happening to him right now.

"If you missed me half as much as I missed you i'd pity you." she whispered into his ear before she nestled her head against his shoulder. It was true, this girl had missed having Aiden around a hell of a lot, and when you're alone it always feels like the end of the world is just around the corner. Being over dramatic about any of it? In this case Steph would have to say no, she was always the one to have that one really close connection, and whats left after that connection is gone? Nothing.

"How have you been?" She asked as she parted from him and stepped back a few feet to be able to get a really good look at him. "You look really good, have I told you that already?" she asked with a slight chuckle. She was still in shock that this boy was standing right next to her, well more like infront of her, and all she could do was keep that grin plastered on her face. "It's really good to have you back Aiden, or is this just a visit before you disappear into the night again?"

Aiden smiled at her words, "Trust me I missed you like crazy." He said making sure his arms were still around her. He couldn't believe he was actually holding her right now. The girl of his dreams was in his arms and she had placed herself there. Even if this was a dream he hoped to god he wasn't waking up any time soon. Though he would be even more grateful if this wasn't a dream. He ran his fingers under the hem of her shirt feeling her smooth skin right above her shorts. He then let his arms go as she stepped back. He smiled as he crossed his arms over his chest and gazed at the tall and beautiful girl.

"I've been ok i'm living alone now though cause my brother moved in with his girlfriend." He said shrugging even though the thought of that hurt. To see his little brother have a better relationship than him definitely made him jealous but only because he wished he could have what Lance had with Steph. Lance laughed lightly as he shrugged, "Well thank you you look amazing as usual." He said winking at her with a playful grin resting on his lips. "I plan on staying around as long as I can see more of you." He said flirting with her shamelessly. "So how've you been beautiful?" He asked wanting to know what has been going on in her life.

When she heard that he was living alone she couldn't help but grin and let out a tiny giggle (though she'd never admit it). "You mean we can go back to having pajama parties and all that good stuff?" She'd loved spending the night at Aiden's place, but didn't get to do it very often only because Lance had always been around. She wanted to spend all the time that she possibly could with this man, but only because she hadn't seen him in forever.

"Same old shit, different day." was her reply when he'd asked her how she'd been. It was true too, nothing too great had happened to her in quite a long time. You'd think she'd just floated around like a ghost for the past few months, making no friends or love interests, but now it seemed like things were going to start to change in her favor. Aiden was back, and before she knew it things were already as they were before they'd seperated for that while. "Wanna score?" she asked as she ran towards the goal. Laughing at the comment she just shook it off and stood in the goal. It'd been a while since she'd gotten to try to block a shot of his, and she was rather interested to see if he'd improved or not (though he was damn near perfect before).

Aiden grinned, "You know I am looking for another roommate." He said as he wiggled his eyebrows in her direction. He chuckled lightly as he heard her laugh. He was so glad this was happening now his life could go back to normal. He would have to get rid of all the alcohol in his apartment though. It would be hard to quit but he couldn't be drunk all the time now that he had Steph around. He could finally live happily without having to use something to make him 'feel' happy. He wondered how Steph would react to his dependence on alcohol. I mean sure the girl liked to party but i'm sure she wouldn't like to see Aiden an angry drunk like he usually got after his second six pack.

He felt bad for leaving her behind when he did. He was glad though that she was so forgiving and just glad to see him back. He smirked at her comment and figured he could have made a comment to that but decided to let it be. Aiden rolled the ball around underneath his foot as she got ready in the goal. He backed up a bit to get his running start. He kicked the ball and sent it sailing directly into the right corner of the goal which was the hardest spot for goalies seeing as how they had to usually jump and tip it with their fingers to keep it from going in.

The comment about needing a roommate messed Steph up as she went for the save. Feeling it just barely brush past her fingertips she'd sighed as she'd let the ball into the goal. "Thank god i'm not a goalie." she let out a laugh as she looked over at him and kicked the ball back in his direction. "Either a wing or fullback is fine with me. Played center a few times but too much drama." She had no idea why she was telling him this only because he'd known all about her playing days, but it seemed fair to just refresh his memory.

"Come on, we just started to talk again out of nowhere, and you need another roomie? I might have to say no this time around, stay at the dorms for the rest of the semester, but if you're not going to be Houdini again I might be able to do something about the summer...that is if you're still going to be looking for one then too." She laughed hoping he wouldn't get mad at her declining the invitation. Going and spending time at his house was one thing, but living there was a whole entire different can of worms.

Aiden noticed his words had affected her in a way that he hadn't expected. He saw that she had almost had the save which surprised him since he had seen her play everything except goalie. He did understand her reasoning for declining his invitation but he couldn't help but let it sting for a bit. He got over it quickly though because he just had to look at her and feel a happy feeling bubble up in his stomach. "Are you still playing?" He asked not having seen her on any of the college rosters he had just gotten his name added to. This had disappointed him because he had loved to see her play and loved to cheer her on. Even though he had distracted her with this cheering more than a few times. He had gotten an ear full after that but soon she was laughing about it and hugging him. God those times were good.

Aiden then decided to confront the moving in thing, "I guess your right." He said dragging in his playful disappointment as he rolled his eyes, "Geez you gotta be a party pooper don't you?" He said with a smirk as he looked over at her. This night had become great now that he wasn't alone and he had her with him. "All right if you want to turn it down just don't be mad when I get another girl in there." He joked and made sure she knew he was kidding because he had proved to her many times that he didn't want any other girl than her. Aiden was the cheating type unlike his brother (touchy subject with him). He would never break a girls heart just for lust or other feelings especially if he was confused with the situation.

She laughed a bit watching him play around about the moving in subject. He was always such a tease in a way, but actually it was like he was her twin...just as a male. Maybe that is why things felt so right with him, because she could always know when he was joking around or serious. The question had been posed about her playing on the college team, and shook her head with a bit of a sigh. She wished that she was playing since she knew Aiden was back around, and she knew that it wasn't too late in the season to get her name on the roster, but with everything she had going on she wasn't sure if she'd even have the time.

"Not this semester, i'm helping out at the high school working with the coach for their team." she replied quickly. Yes, she'd missed playing in the college green, but knew that she'd be back anyway, so what would hurt just taking one semester off? Hell, there was always good old conditioning to look forward to in the winter. She hated doing that, her muscles were always so sore afterwards, but she knew it was just a price to pay to stay in shape.

"Oh, and if I find there is another girl trying to weasle her way into that household i'm going to have to go Jerry Springer on her ass," she teased as she let out another tiny giggle. She'd missed talking to this boy, and more importantly just being with him all together.

"Well you better consider playing next semester or there might have to be a beat down." He said smirking as he made a fist and shook it at her playfully. It had shocked him to hear that she wasn't playing considering she was the best girl they had in pleasant and probably on the college girl's team too. He had liked it when it had been co-ed but that of course is a given. He got to play with her and against her which he liked almost even more during practice. They pushed each other people got them confused for being related as brother and sister which made him angry. They may act competitively against each other but that was just another way for them to get close to each other but also give bragging rights to one or the other.

Aiden laughed as she said she might have to whoop some girl's ass if they tried to get close to him. He had to think to himself that there might be some conflict with some of the other soccer girl's because he had already charmed a few. He had been so depressed about Steph but he couldn't help himself when he saw some of the other soccer girls and he just turned on the charm easily. "Well we wouldn't want that so I guess i'm just gonna have to fight them off or just show them who's my girl." He said jokingly as he winked at her before rolling the ball up and beginning to juggle it as he looked at her waiting for her response.
