There was a lot of news..always a lot of news and today was no exception to the rule. Ava had been in the office for hours now, even skipping dinner to get all the necessary revisions she needed to do done by the midnight deadline. She was exhausted too, but knew that a break was not an option..at least until the last article was done..that was where she was now. Her last proof-read and edit before her job for the night was officially over.
She loved being editor to death, but she was starting to rethink her long list of priorities. Of course the paper was at the top along with Blake and her friends, but then from there came the Orchid, her job at the bowling alley and..life. Sometimes it was too much to handle.

Blake walked up the newspaper office, stuck his head in the door "Knock knock" He said with a smile as he saw Ava sitting alone, working her little heart out.

Ava had been reading, and making small changes as she read when someone speaking a knock almost made her jump out of her seat. She hadn't expected anyone that late. She turned and saw Blake. "Hey." she said, sighing a little in relief because at first she though it was someone dropping off more work for her.
She stood and walked over. "Please say you are here to save me." she said to him, mostly joking but almost dead serious at the same time. She just wanted to go home.

"Because you can never forget the dessert." Ava replied, taking the food appreciatively, giving him a thankful look. She decided to start with the fries since finger food was always easy. She opened the pack and ate one. "So what were you up to today?" she asked him curiously. "I called earlier, but I just got your machine."

Ava rolled her eyes. "Not my idea, trust me. This new gilr, Carrie, that our staff advisor seems to have this crush on wrote it. She doesn't seem to know anything but what's in the tabloids, so we had to make an exception..though I guess one column of something to laugh at isn't so bad."
