sitting, relaxing and just....being. (open)

First time in a few weeks Jack was able to just sit..and be. He was determined to keep everything out of his mind except for the book he was currently, and unsuccessfully reading. Problem was, the more you push problems away you have to identify them and doing that makes you have to read the same line over and over again. Jack was sitting in a corner of one of the back isles, knowing he'd be alone and able to spread out and just....be.

Not too far away from Jack, Ava slid a book she'd been gazing over back on to the shelf and started walking again through the fiction section. Unlike Jack, she wasn't there to avoid her problems..she really didn't have any except being insanely busy with life that she'd needed a break..and a new book.

She pulled one that looked good off the shelf and started the first page.

Jack took the pencil from behind his ear and wrote a few lines in the margin of the page. He had one leg up near his chest and the other stretched out in front of him. The book was good, and now that he was on a different page it was starting to get him more away from his problems and helping him relax.

As she read, Ava started through the store towards the back reading area, a path she'd memorized so much by now that she didn't even look up to get there. She knew every turn and corner..unfortunately she didn't know where people were standing and bumped into one..Jack.

"Sorry I.." she quickly started then looked up to see who it was. "Hey." she said, laughing a little.

"Watch it" He said still looking down at his book until he heard her greeting, he looked up,"Oh..Hey right back" He said with a small grin."Must be one hell of a book." He added with a small laugh that soon dissapeared.

"It is." Ava replied then laughed herself, closing the book as she spoke. "Unfortunately I don't think it'll be on my reading list though." she added. "What about you? Good book?" she asked, meaning the one he had been reading.

He looked at the cove and then back at her, "It's alright, it's like every book i've read before...so it's not much of a surprise." He said with a small smirk.

"Yeah, I hate that." She replied honestly, leaning against the shelf a little. "So what brings you here?" she asked curiously. "Not out enjoying the nice weather?" she joked.

"Yeah I was until it started burning my skin." he joked as he closed the book and put it down next to him s he folded his arms across his chest, "There's a lot going on and I just wanted an hour or so to just make it as if nothing happened..does that make any sense?" He asked.

Ava nodded. "Perfect sense." she said, wondering if she should ask about it or not. She decided to wait and see if he told her. "I come in this place a lot when things get crazy."

"It's finally setting in that the Orchid opens in 1 day ,12 hours and, 43 minutes." He said looking down at his cuff watch. He rubbed his eyes, "I had this thought last night, I mean, I should be in school, and just working on internships..I shouldn't be getting ready to open a bar."He said trying not to start one of his infamous rants.

"Wouldn't it be fun if we could just..stop thinking?" Ava said with a laugh. "Seriously, I think you're overthinking things. The Orchid is going to be great and you'll do great..School works for some people, but I honestly think that you can make things work..happen, without it." She wanted to add 'I believe in you', but it seemed corny to her and so she left it out.

"Thanks" He said with a smile,"I've decided as well that opening night I'm going to drink until I'm blue in the face so when we do open I'll be okay." He said with a sarcastic smile.

"Well then I'll make sure to be there with a pot of coffee." Ava joked, laughing a little. "That sounds like a better opening gift than more liquor."

"That sounds about right." He said with a slight smirk as he stretched his shoulders back and then relaxed."So your not nervous what so ever? Have you gotten in touch with Sam recently?" He asked her.
