Aiden fumed a bit as he made his way around to his side of the car. He hated the fact that she had lied to him and he was pretty sure she wasn't going to want to tell him after the stunt he had just pulled. He was finally letting his anger get the best of him and his stubborn nature was setting in. This was probably one of the first fights they were ever going to share as a couple. They were obviously few and far between which was good but he had a feeling this one wasn't going to end easily. He stepped into the car took a seat and shut the door behind him. Almost immediately to his sitting down Steph turned and started talking to him. He let go of the seat belt in his hand knowing it probably wasn't smart for him to start driving while angry and arguing. So they would stay put for now until he felt better about driving or unless he saw that the argument was not gonna end any time soon which he had a feeling it would be this option.
"Was that the best you could think of while I walked around the car? That I should have known that you were going to do that? Are you kidding me? Sorry to prove ya wrong Steph but no I didn't think you would lie blatantly to my face. I guess I should just expect it from now on though because that's basically what you just told me." He said through his teeth as the anger inside of him began to boil. As she continued to explain that it was nothing he wouldn't have any of it, "And how do I know that's true?! That could just be another lie to get me off your back. Well i'm sorry for caring about you Steph apparently I should stop doing that too. Maybe then it would make things easier on you." He rolled his eyes as the sarcasm dripped from his words.
The whole one day to recover after getting a bottle of pills was an obvious lie that he caught quickly but he wasn't going to press those buttons just yet, "I guess I can't argue with you there I don't even know what the hell is wrong with you!" He was absolutely livid at the moment. He didn't even know if everything she was telling him was the truth. He had a strong feeling it wasn't as it was obvious she didn't want anyone to know but her. "I know you may think you have things under control by yourself Steph, but I can promise you you're wrong about this one." He said as some of his final words for the moment as he turned back to his steering wheel and placed the keys in the ignition turning the car on. He angrily grabbed his seat belt and quickly put it on backing out and heading out of the parking lot. He knew the argument wasn't over but he had to get away from this place now.

Stephanie could see that he was pissed when he got into the car, but she had hoped he would at least leave the parking lot, but instead he let go of his seatbelt and started to go off on her. She knew that he could get a pretty bad temper, she had luckily never gotten to see it at it's full extent, but she had heard stories about how bad his father could get, and she hoped that Aiden wouldn't get that bad. "I don't lie to you all the damn time, Aiden. What are you talking about stop caring about me? Don't be so ridiculous," She was hurt that he would even say something like that, she just thought that sometimes it was best when he didn't know things, especially something like this. She wanted to have today be a happy day, not one that turned into a stupid fight that obviously could go on forever considering they both were too damn stubborn to quit at it. She did know it was her fault though, she just thought she was doing the best thing even if it had meant lying. She knew lying was wrong though, especially to him, but she just didn't want to let him in on it. She did turn towards the window and mumble under her breathe, "Sometimes lies keep peace and happiness," She rolled her eyes letting the back of her head hit the seat behind her as she closed her eyes.
"Look Aiden if you want me to get out i'll go and hitch a ride on the bus to make it back to campus, and that way you can cool off and get back to me when you have calmed down." She knew that was not a good thing, leaving while in the middle of an arguement was never the answer, and she was somewhat thankful when he started the car and left the parking lot. She would argue with him but not there, too many people could go past and just look in at them and that drove her insane. She really did not want to be arguing with him at all. She just wished she could have said something that wouldn't have upset anymore right now, but since he was pretty much as mad as he could get she figured there was no changing his opinion of her at the moment. He could not stand what she had did to him, and truth be told she was pissed at herself for causing this drama too.
"I know you think you could do what is best for me, but you just can't. You don't think I have tried everything I can think of? I have been dealing with this damn problem for the past five or so months so go ahead and tell me again that I don't have things under control? I don't know what the fuck is wrong, is that what you want to hear? That I have massive pain when I run a mile even if I stretch and everything before? Dad says i'm wearing myself thin but I can't tell him the whole damn story because he would call coach first chance he got and my ass would be on that bench. I can't sit the damn bench Aiden, I just can't. I would quit the team if I had no time on the field, I seriously would." She took a deep breathe having just went off on a small rampage of her own. She shook her head and looked out the window. She was talking more to herself right now, he wanted to know what the hell was wrong so she would let him know. She honestly didn't care if he kept going off on her, she was pissed that this was happening in the first place.
"Oh and don't forget about the constant popping sound I hear when i'm working out. I got the damn x-ray and they can't see a damn thing in there because there is way too much inflammation. I got the damn pills so I can dull the pain and get the damn inflammation out of there so they can get a clearer picture next time. Is that what you really want to hear? That I have been wearing damn sweats to practice so I can wear a brace without the coach knowing? I sweat my ass off everyday just because i'm too damn stubborn to sit down and rest. Or maybe that I have to ice the damn thing at night and then heat it in the morning so it doesn't lock up on me, oh and have I told you that it has locked up on me a few times leaving me having to drag it across the damn ground wherever I am? Is that what you want to hear? There now that you know what is going on how about you just bring me back to the dorms already?" She wasn't sure if she had told him everything or not, she just went off and let everything on her mind come out for him to hear. She knew that it had been a lot to take in but the damn man wanted to know, she just did him the favor. She just hoped he wouldn't jump over the deep end with all the information, especially because she has been hiding it from him for so long. "And no, everytime that we ran or whatever lately I told you my knee was hurting, just didn't tell you how bad or for how long, so I am pretty sure it wasn't an entire lie. You know, just to clear things up."

Aiden knew he had let his anger get the best of him. He had said things he already regretted to her. He wouldn't even look over at her. He kept his eyes dead ahead on the road. He ran a few stop signs but was aware enough to stop at stop lights. He listened to her as she now went off on him. He was baffled like he had been the one that was wrong here. Like he had been the one that had lied to her face. He was about to open his mouth to retaliate and have her see where she was wrong but she began to tell him what was wrong with her. His heart stopped for a few seconds. Knee injury? Those two fatal words had ended so many amazing soccer player's career. He couldn't see something like this happening to Steph. She was resilient and always kept herself in tip top shape. Though she did tend to push it a bit to far every time.
His breathing halted as she continued not even knowing how bad her knee was the worst part. He knew she wouldn't sit the bench but did she not understand that she could heal if she sat maybe a few games? No, of course not the damn girl was too stubborn he knew not even to suggest it. He had known she had told him a few times that her knee had hurt her but he had never known it had been this bad to where she was experiencing lock ups. His anger seemed to fade as he started to worry about her ten times more than before. He couldn't let her career end on something like this. This girl was meant to be a star out on the field. This was their dream. Their goal. They were both supposed to make it pro and god he wanted it to happen so badly for her.
He slowly pulled up to the dorms her rant having taken the entire car ride because he had been driving like a maniac at intense speeds. He pulled into a spot and kept his eyes glued straight ahead he couldn't look at her. He leaned back in his seat and placed his head on the headrest sighing. What she had just put on him was something huge. He knew she didn't want him to tell anyone though. He placed his hand on his face applying pressure around his eyes as he thought of what to say.
He unbuckled himself and slowly looked over at her. His sentence would be brief, "I love you Stephanie Davis. I just want that to be said before I go on." he said quietly to her being as genuine as possible, "You have to go easier on it though babe. You could end your career on pushing yourself too hard like you usually do. You should at least go easier on it until the doctors can finally find out what's wrong. I just don't want to see something horrible happen to you." He said quietly worry and fear written all over his face as he looked at the beautiful girl that sat in his passenger seat. He reached over and grabbed her hand and squeezed it, "I'm here for you and i'll stay quiet about this until we find out what's wrong with your knee." He pulled her hand up and placed his lips on the back of her palm briefly before lacing up their fingers.

Stephanie honestly had no idea she had talked the entire way back to the dorm but it was not like she was paying much attention to what had been around her. She was just fuming and trying to get everything out there and as she stopped she could only imagine what was going through Aiden's mind right now. "Well you wanted to know, I hope you're happy now." She said defeated as she let her head drop back against the seat once more and she looked out of the window for a brief second. When she had felt the vehicle stop all together she took her seatbelt off silently waiting for Aiden to say something at least, the silence had been damn near killing her inside. What could he possibly say after something like that though, she pretty much just threw five months worth of crap right onto his lap so could she honestly expect him to know how to handle it?
She could have sworn he was going to start hollering at her or something but instead the first words out of his mouth had been he loved her, and with that the anger that he had exploded with seemed almost trumped by sadness and nerves. "This is exactly how I did not want you to react," she said shaking her head as she heard him continue. She knew he was going to tell her to go easier on herself but it was just something that she did not know how to do. "Maybe you should just forget that I said anything, how does that sound? Sounds great to me," She mumbled as she looked over towards him for just a second, but the hurt expression in his eyes made her look right back at the dash at her pill bottle. She did not pick her glance up as he took her hand in his and kissed it, instead she took a deep breathe and let her eyes flutter shut for a minute. "Nothing is going to happen to me, i'm too stubborn for that to happen right?" She said looking up at him, a roll of the eyes as she slowly moved her hand away from his right after he'd laced their fingers together so she could grab her bottle of medication.
"I'm tired, I think i'm going to just go back to my room and knock out for the rest of the day." She said not wanting to be with him right now. She hated how she had just spilled her guts to him, sitting here beside him just felt ackward and uncomfortable. "Thanks for talking to those coaches for me, i'll grab their numbers sometime and make the calls I have to." She said shifting her weight as she sat up straight in her seat and put her hand on the door handle so she could get out. "I guess i'll see you around, bye Aiden." She said carefully and quietly as she did not bother to look at him even yet as she opened the door, stepped out onto the ground, and shut the door behind her without waiting for him to say a single word. She was hurt right now, that much was for sure. She just did not want to tell him and now that she had she could see that he was worried, and that meant she would probably be treated like some fragile little doll until they figured out what was wrong with her. She hated that, her and Aiden were supposed to rough house and have a good time together and she figured that was not out of the window. She let out a groan as she started to walk back towards her dorm making sure to stuff the pills into her pocket so nobody would see them. She did not bother to look back to see if he had gone yet or not, she didn't think it mattered too much right now. She just wanted to get to her dorm and forget this afternoon had ever happened, period.

Aiden listened to her and closed his eyes as she said she just didn't know how to go easy. It was true the girl had one speed and that was always 100%. He just didn't want it to be her downfall. He didn't want to see her upset whenever her career was over because of the damn knee and all the pressure she had put on it. He decided to not say anything and not make it worse than it already was. He could see how upset she was and yes it was his fault but he was still getting over the fact that she didn't want to share this with him. So instead of adding fuel to the fire he stayed quiet and watched her even if she wouldn't look at him. As she pulled her hand away from his he looked even more hurt. He knew they needed some time apart right now before words were shared that they both didn't mean.
So as she stepped out of the car he opened his mouth to say at least a goodbye but she shut the door right then. As she walked away from the car he pounded his hand down on the steering wheel having held in that bit of anger until she was gone. He had never shown her this side of him and he had wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. His anger rarely came out but when it came to Steph and anything that might hurt her he was gonna be the first person trying to find a way to keep her safe. After slamming his hand down on the steering wheel he leaned back in his seat and backed out quickly his tires squealing before he took off at an even faster pace. He had to get away from this place right now. He needed to be alone to think.
