[jack edward riley]

Jack fidgeted with his keys, he never found himself nervous that often, and it was strange that he wasn't now. He slipped the keys into his pocket and stared down as his feet after scanning the park in front of him for any sign of Tory. His knee started bouncing and he forced it to stop by placing his hands on his knees and sitting back against the back of the bench.Maybe it was a mistake to by the kid a toy, he didn't even know if he'd like it or not.He wasn't the best around kids, probably since he didn't spend that much time being one..he was hoping that on his part he wasn't going to scare the boy away.

Tory had just come from the airport, picking up Adam to bring to meet Jack. She too was nervous, very in fact. She knew the whole thing would make it so official. Jack was back..in her life and now would be in her son's too. Parking her car in the lot, she went into the back and unfolded Adam's stroller, then taking him out of his car seat. You could see that the plane ride had wiped him out because in the short ride from there to the park he'd completely crashed and was now asleep, probably for the better.

She hit the lock button on her car, a recent purchase since she knew she'd need something to get around in, and started pushing the stroller into the park as she looked around for Jack. She finally saw him sitting on a bench and smiled to herself. This is it..

"Hey." she said when she got close enough to him.

He took a deep breath and stood up when she got closer to the bench." Hi" He said quietly and then slowly looked down in the stroller she was pushing to the sleeping child. He smiled down at they young boy, he found himself mesmerized by the size of his small hands. It was strange, there was just this wave of something that came over him that caused his whole body to just warm up, as if it hadn't been warm in years.

She didn't know what to say, so she didn't right away..just let Jack look at Adam the same way she looked at him everyday..amazed. "Have you been here long?" she asked, sitting down beside him and turning the stroller to face them.

[jack edward riley]

"No, maybe ten minutes..did his flight go alright." He asked her still looking down at the sleeping child he place the small stuffed animal in the stroller with him.

Seeing Jack place the stuffed toy he'd bought Adam in the stroller she let out a small smile. "Yeah, according to my mom is was good..she's at my place now relaxing. I figured she deserved it." She laughed a little and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

[jack edward riley]

"Are both your parents here?" He asked her finally looking away from the sleeping child and looking at Tory,making eye contact, for the first time today. He didn't know when he would meet her parents but he knew what he had to say to them to set the record straight.

Ava shook her head. "Just my mom. My dad had to stay in the city for business this time." she replied, catching his eye for the first time.

[jack edward riley]

"Oh." he said with a small smile that faded quickly as he looked back down at Adam. He started fidgeting again with his hands and the jumping leg."What are you all doing this evening?" He asked her.
(sorry for the small post..i'm a bit tired)

"Settling I guess." Tory said with a small laugh. "I bought him a small crib yesterday so we'll probably set that up, then go from there. Maybe catch some Blue's Clues." she said, adding the last bit jokingly.

[jack edward riley]

"Sound's like a rousing night with full bodied activities." He said sarcastically," I'd offer to help but it might be a bit awkward and number two is last time I tried to put somthing together the parts didn't quite go and I ended up using masking tape." He told her with a small grin.

Tory laughed and nodded a little. "It's okay, we can manage." she replied. "I just seriously hope he grows up to be a better handyman than you.." she teased, smirking.

[jack edward riley]

"Hey I can fix cars okay, but office desks are nothing like cars." He said with a smirk as he looked out and around the park.

"Okay, you've got me there." Tory said with a laugh. "I know nothing at all about cars."

[jack edward riley]

"Yeah well you don't need to learn anything, you've got me." He told her with a small smile as he looked into her eyes and inhaled deeply, a habit that showed he was trying to build some sort of confidence or he was trying to make something happen.
