"Right..if my car ever breaks I have you to call..and if you ever need edible food you know my number..though that cheesecake was pretty good." She replied honestly.

"Why thank you, I'm glad to hear there was no lasting side effects from it." He said with a small smirk.

"Well we'll find out when my third hand grows in.." she joked, smirking back at him. She ran a hand through her hair and looked at him. He made her smile.

He sighed deeply, "So that's ours huh?" He said not really as a question as he looked back down and into the stroller in front of them.

"Yep..." Tory said her voice trailing off as she too looked at the sleeping child in the strollers. "He's ours."

He looked out to the park for a short time and then back down to Adam," He's beautiful, maybe that's not the right word...Handsom" He said quietly to her.

"I think for babies anything goes..cute, precious, beautiful..handsome.." Tory said and smiled. "So where do we go from here? I mean do you take him sometimes and do almost like a joint custody thing or ..I don't know."

He knew this was going to come up at some point and he had an answer all planed out but that wasn't always the best thing to store in his own brain, it got jumbled up and lost.He looked up to her, " I don't want that..I mean I do want to see Adam but I dont want the situtation to be like that." He paused thinking about it for a moment. This was something he usually ran from, the idea that floated around his mind now, but he thought about it for a moment more and decided, " I'm all in, I want to give the whole family thing a shot...I understand if you don't want to and you don't have to explain..I get it. I just thing that we should be together- all of us." He said looking back down at his shoes.

Tory wanted to believe him..she really did, but somehow she knew it was just him wanting to do the 'right' thing. And the 'right' thing wasn't always the right thing. "Do you really?" she asked him seriously. "Because..I would love for you to be telling the truth. I want us..us and him and all of it..I just don't think your ready for it."

"I want to be ready, I'm ready for you and me..and Adam- know that you were the first thing that helped give me this answer. I mean I can't be the soccer dad who is more involved than the coach or one of those parents who have a bumper sticker that boats that their kid is better than yours...but I can do this, I want to be here for both of you Tory." He reassured her, or was he more reassuring himself?

Tory looked away knowing in her heart he was just saying this..He didn't want this. He wanted to want it. She ran a hand through her long dark hair and looked back to him. "It's your call." she said. "I want whatever you want."

" It's your conversation as well as is your life..the balls in your court." He told her feeling like maybe she wasn't really into the idea, he truly did want to be with her, it's just a situtation he has never found himself in and when he gets in these situtations its always hard for him to explain himself.

She was into the idea, completely into it only she was also guarding herself. She didn't want to be hurt by him, by anyone...or worse, have Adam hurt. "It's not that I don't care about what happens.." she said thinking she'd come off like that and wanting to explain. "It's just..I don't have an answer right now..but maybe, I never will...maybe this is one of those senarios where you have to jump in order to see the outcome."

He looked a Tory for a moment as if studying her face, and then down at Adam. "I want to jump in." He said with a small smile.

Tory smiled back at him. Maybe this could work..she'd definitely try. "Then..let's jump." she replied smiling back at him.
