Lance smirked as he teased Emma, "Well good i'm not the only slacker in this relationship." He was glad that Emma wasn't like Rachel in that sense that Rachel probably would have been upset had Lance been late. Though Emma brushed it off instead of making it a big deal. He appreciated this more than she knew. For Lance his relationship with Emma wasn't hard. She was easy to talk to, easy to get along with, and beautiful none the less. She was his perfect girl as far as it went with him. He was brought back to reality when the topic of his album came up as it did often with the few people who knew. "It's going good," he nodded his head in reassurance, "Excited? Yes. Nervous? Very. Though i'm glad I have you at my side it's really helped me lately. I wanted to thank you for that." He smiled at her as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and placed a tender kiss against her lips letting them linger a bit longer than the first brief kiss. Kennedy had gone from his thoughts for the time being he knew whenever he saw her again the worries would arise again. He hoped they didn't run into each other though had a feeling it was going to be inevitable. Lance hadn't told Kennedy about Emma due to their night a few weeks ago at the quarry. He wasn't sure how to bring it up either. Also he hadn't seen Ryan in so long due to his increase in time in the studio and also hadn't told Kennedy why he hadn't been around so much. He knew he would have to talk to her about it at some point though tonight was definitely not that night. He wanted to let loose and have some fun with Emma at his side. "So, how about I take you down there and show you off?" He grinned as he wanted to show everyone that she was with him and he wanted her to have a good time, "That is if you think you can dance as good as muah." He winked at her as he teased her yet again. "Slacker, eh? You're just lucky that I like you or this water would be in your face." she teased, meaning the bottle she was holding to drink. "That and I'm really thirsty so..." She smirked, joking with him. She was happy that he was finally here and the party could start for her. Talking about his album, she could see all the emotions he was talking about, just by looking at him, though when he thanked her, she quickly shook her head. "It's my job." she said with a smile. "Not that I would choose to be any where else." She added, honestly. "If anything, I should be thanking you." It was true. Emma owed a lot to her new boyfriend and a lot of it was for making her feel so... alive again. He was right to think that things with them were easy. And who really needed drama? Emma had enough of that in her life without needing it in her love life too. She just wanted to have fun for once with someone. Lance was that someone. She kissed him back, grinning to herself against his lips. She could have done that for ages, but alas, it ended. "Dance?" she repeated, with a smirk again. "Please. I'm a natural. Or did I forget to tell you that I took dance lessons until I was fifteen?" She was teasing him back with her tone, though she was really a good dancer. "Lead the way, Mr. Wright."

Becca was late for the party, after working on a deadline for Rachel Miles all day, then having fallen asleep after for a long, unexpected nap. Now, more awake than ever, she was ready to have some fun. Wearing her perfect "Daisy Duke" look, she headed into the old barn, close to where the DJ was playing. This was exactly what Becca had needed. A night off to just relax and be young. Why was it that so many people were in a rush to grow up, get jobs and be "responsible"? Okay, so Becca may have been one of these people, but that didn't mean she couldn't let loose tonight. On the way over, she'd texted Blake about the party, hoping that he could meet her, but so far there had been no answer and such was the case as she pulled out her phone and check for missed calls or texts. Sighing, she slid the slim phone back into her back pocket, then noticed the change in song as many people flooded to the dance floor. The DJ was actually doing a good job at getting people dancing, which she knew from some of the parties she'd been to in New York, was a hard task. Finding her way off the dance floor, she headed over to the keg and grabbed herself a beer, which she sipped before looking around again to see if anyone she knew was there. She doubted she'd see her brother or his pregnant wife, but maybe some high school friends? A girl could hope.

I'd like to raise you high 'Cause I think everyone deserves the chance to fly
Once again Kayleigh couldn't help but feel like the odd one out. Last to know about the 'social event of the season' as she had been told, she had not had an awful lot of notice, particularly reguarding clothing. Not that it particularly mattered: Kayleigh didn't belong at parties. She never had done and she didn't think she ever would.
She had gotten back to the dump she called home and rummaged through the cases which were still guarding her clothes. She had pulled out, tried on and discarded numerous items labelling them as being too revealing or too sophisticated. It was only a party in a barn. She didn't want to wear something that gave the impression that she was well... desperate. She wasn't. She was happy being single and that suited her just fine. She'd had enough stress in her life - boyfriend worries was one thing she didn't think she could handle. So that ruled out the shorts and low cut tops. That also ruled out her dresses.
Suits were too over the top. They had been discarded almost instantly, as had the skirts and the blouses. It was only by chance that she had pulled out the blue top which was not exactly what people would call 'sluttish' but it wasn't exactly what one would wear to a high society dinner. The material crossed over the bust and was topped by a small bow in the center, underneath the bust. from there the material was loose and was decorated with patterns that, to Kayleigh, looked like angels. She had the top sorted, all she needed was the pants. That in itself took another ten minutes until she ahd finally settled upon dark jeans and heeled boots.
So here she was, standing awkwardly in the middle of a packed barn on the outskirts of town surrounded by people whom had long since lost contact with reality and were getting down with it. Kayleigh slipped past a couple whom appeared to be engaged in a rather fierce game of tonsil tennis. Kayleigh felt really out of place. Who was she trying to kid, coming to something like this? It definately was not her scene.
Partying was not Kayleigh-Anne Thropp's scene.
The young blonde took refuge at the back of the barn, choosing to engage in her favourite pasttime: people watching. That was something she was better at.

Kennedy took a drink of what had been in her cup as she looked around at everyone that passed. She honestly didn't understand why she had been hiding from Lance, he obviously had been there with someone else so why was she outside around the corner out of his sight? It wasn't like he would just stop what he was doing to come and talk to her, so instead of hiding she figured she'd get back into the swing of things and hopefully be noticed. Not that the person noticing her had to be Lance, that actually worried her more than anyone else that happened to be there, but she did hope with the outrageous outfit she had picked out especially for that night had someone at least turning their head. "Well Kenn you're not going to get anywhere hiding out here are you?" She asked herself somewhat under her breathe as she took the final drink of what had been in the cup as she picked herself up off of the tree and started back around the barn.
She noticed the same group of old friends she had been talking to earlier that had not moved from their spot, but she did not go back to them but instead turned to head into the loud and crowded barn. She was small so it made it easier for her to slink through the crowd, some people pushing into her while they were dancing and grinding up against one another, but Kenn did not feel like dancing, and especially did not feel like acting like these guys right now. Desperation seemed to be at an all-time high here tonight, although Kenn had been somewhat desperate for a normal life again she did have some standards, and she could never see herself going at it quite like some of the people within the barn walls. She found her way through the crowd towards the back of the barn, her eyes scanning the crowd and raftors trying to make sure that she was out of sight of Lance and Emma, the girl she had just met and talked to not too long ago at the gym. She could still see a profile view of him so ducked further in the back managing to find some space towards the back corner of the barn. She let out a sigh of relief as she smoothed out her shirt and walked over towards some hay that had been laying there on the ground.
She was about to sit down when she noticed a stray woman sitting by herself, one who seemed interested in what people were doing around her, so instead of sitting alone Kenn thought she would at least talk to somewhat seemingly normal tonight. Hopefully this girl wasn't all about digging for the gossip, and if she happened to be just that type Kenn would unfortunately disappoint her considering she'd been out of the loop for far too long. "This seat taken?" She asked, her voice somewhat timid though with the loud throbbing of the music the girl didn't seem to stir so Kenn figured she had not been heard at all, that was understandable. "Excuse me," She spoke up to get the girls attention. She pointed towards the bale beside her, "Mind if I sit?" She paused and waited for an answer, and soon took refuge beside the girl. "It's insane here tonight isn't it?" She asked leaning towards her some so she didn't have to holler, but instead kept it strong and loud enough to be heard but not overheard by others. "So why are you sitting back here all alone anyway? Is the boyfriend out getting drinks or something?" She asked curiously, the girl looked good and not trashy like some of the others she had seen, so maybe she had came with someone? Hell, for all she knew the girl could have been with a girlfriend, Kenn honestly had no idea and was terrible at reading people. "I'm not intruding am I?"

I'd like to raise you high 'Cause I think everyone deserves the chance to fly Kayleigh was, as Jack would say, off with the fairies. In other words she was in her own little world. A world where the only people who existed were Kayleigh and the people she was watching. It amused her: the people around her couldn't be any more different to herself. This lot were obviously either very drunk or just didn't care. Their reckless grinding against each other seemed to prove Kayleigh's point. She had a feeling that, should some people lose themselves in the moment and get carried away they would soon regret it the following morning. At least those who had a conscience would.
Kayleigh held her drink loosely in her hands, seeing but not really seeing. Listening but not really listening. The music was loud and the bass has obviously been turned up as loud as it would go. The vibrations shook the floor and, for one strange moment, Kayleigh thought she could feel the foundations of the barn shaking, although that might have been from the amount of people jumping and bouncing to the rhythm of the music she later concluded. At first she didn't hear the person whom had sidled up beside her: it wasn't surprising due to the level of the music.
"Excuse me." The raised voice brought Kayleigh back to reality with a thud and she started. She looked around, finally finding the source of the voice. "Mind if I sit?" Kayleigh flushed. Not the first impression she was hoping to have made.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," she quickly appologised. "Of course." Kayleigh shuffled over a bit to make some room for the new comer who slipped in beside her. She wasn't sure what to say in situations like this and was glad when the girl spoke first, leaning in in order to be heard. Kayleigh tried heard not to panic as she felt her personal space being crowed: claustrophobia was not a good thing to have in a place like this.
"It's insane here tonight isn't it?" Kayleigh nodded, glancing briefly at the girl beside her. "Are these things normal around here?" she asked, hoping her voice was audible over the music. She watched a group of girls as they danced, flicking their hair and glancing longingly at some of the male 'studs'. It would be somewhat pathetic if it wasn't so amusing.
"So why are you sitting back here all alone anyway? Is the boyfriend out getting drinks or something?" Kayleigh opened her mouth but no words came out. "I'm not intruding am I?" She felt a little foolish but she couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness. She closed her mouth and shook her head instead.
"No," she replied. "I haven't been in town long - I don't know very many people," she admitted, reaching a hand up to scratch the back of her head. "Hence the fact I'm sitting here... I uhh..." Kayleigh hesitated a moment, not sure exactly how much she wanted to reveal. "I uhh... Have never been to one of these before," she finally admitted, somewhat embarrassed. She always knew how to say the wrong thing. It would be just her luck that this girl would think her a freak and leave and, maybe spread the word.
Or maybe Kayleigh was being too harsh. Maybe this girl really was a genuinely nice person. In a rare moment of clarity Kayleigh realised that she thought too much and that she was too judgmental. How would she get anywhere in life if she kept judging people before she got to know them. What was that saying? 'Never judge a book by its cover'.
Maybe Kayleigh should take a leaf out of that book after all...

Lance smirked and placed a hand over his heart, "Oh thank god for the power of thirst!" He teased her back as he winked at her. He was happy to see her smile and see that she didn't seem too nervous. He knew of Emma's past history at parties. Getting onto the subject of his album always brought up many different ranges of emotion. He just wanted to get it done and released so he could relax a bit with Emma and see how things went, aka if people excepted his music.
He smiled and laughed lightly as she said it was her job, "That it is and you're doing amazing." As she said she should thank him he looked at her curiously, "For what? Being blessed with good enough looks to have a girl like you?" He joked as he smirked a trademark he had had since high school. It had honestly just become a habit of his to respond with a smirk in half the things he did. He had noticed the change in Emma though over the course of their relationship. She had been so hung up on Landon and it was expected of course. Though he had noticed she had been a bit more outgoing and up for a lot of things Lance would suggest. He was glad to see her this way. Though the thing he liked the most was just hanging with her and Keagan and watching her be an incredible mother.
"Uh oh now I really gotta see these moves," he smiled as he took her hand and helped her down from the rafters. He lead her over to the crowd of people that were having an obvious good time. As the song kept it's upbeat tone it had had most of the night he easily set into the rhythm. Lance was actually thanking his music career for all the dance lessons he had had to take for his first music video that they would be shooting in a few months. Otherwise he had only been okay back in high school and only really danced when he had gotten smashed.
Again Lance saw Kennedy in the midst of it all. She looked amazing and had had a hard time tearing his eyes from her but reminded himself that he had a girlfriend. Now his eyes went back to Emma having seen Kennedy from over her shoulder. So hopefully he hadn't been caught in gazing at her and hopefully she hadn't seen him looking at her. He shook the thoughts from his head and got back to dancing with Emma which she was really an amazing dancer.

Kenn smiled graciously and sat down beside the girl before Kenn felt she needed to start a conversation, though from the way Kayleigh leaned inward to hear her Kenn at least took that as a sign that starting a conversation might not be such a bad thing afterall. She was usually terrible when making new friends, most people had heard about the history and had blamed her for everything that had happened to the group involved in the mess, though with Kayleigh she seemed to have a clean slate, so of course she was going to take advantage of this and hopefully come out with a newfound friendship, or at least that is what she had hoped.
"Are these things normal around here?" Kenn tilted her head slightly to the side and looked at the girl trying to understand what she had meant, but it didn't take long before she realized that she'd infact been asking if parties had been the norm around Point Pleasant. "Yeah, it seems someone is always putting something like this together. I have to say they sort of picked a crappy spot this time around," She figured it had something to do with the noise level though, around the barn there wasn't anything for miles so if the noise was cranked up not too many people would complain. "I don't usually head to all of them though, I honestly don't even know what brought me here tonight." She said, trailing off and dropping in pitch as she scanned the crowd looking around at the couples dancing. Her eyes seemed to find Lance right off the bat as he started to dance around the floor with his gal pal, Kenn not knowing the two were an item yet, and she let a small inaudible sigh fall from her lips. Kenn knew exactly why she had been here tonight, to try to forget about everything between her and Lance, and the whole big issue with Rachel and Rodney, and here her main concern was dancing and having a good time on the floor just infront of her, well on the other side of the barn anyway.
Kenn looked away quick not wanting him to think she'd been staring at him, and she also didn't want Kayleigh to start wondering about the two of them, so when she heard Kayleigh start to answer her next little bunch of questions she listened in, her eyes trailing to the side to catch a glimpse of him from time to time. She really needed to stop that. "You're lucky, I wish I could say the same." She commented finally giving her full attention back to the girl beside her. Kennedy would love to just start fresh and forget that she'd known anyone around here, but of course she could never do that considering Point Pleasant had been rather significant in her life. "It's not a bad thing that you're sitting here, it just means that you have enough class to not get drunk and bump and grind with anything that moves." This comment somewhat being a stab at Lance who she had just so happened to look back at briefly as she watched him and Emma dancing close. She shook her head and looked back at Kayleigh, a small smile starting to form across her lips. "You've never been to a party?" she asked curiously looking over at the girl. She seemed a little older than her, but maybe she lived in some rural area before that never really partied at all. Who was Kenn to judge? Maybe if she hadn't been to so many parties throughout her high school years she wouldn't be sitting here in the situation she had been.
"Well if you have never been to a party you sure kick things off with a bang." She laughed some as she looked over at Kayleigh again before bringing her attention to the entire crowd, this time doing a good job avoiding the man that she'd rather not bump into tonight. "They're not all that bad though, well when you're with a friend anyway." She admitted as she brought her attention back to Kayleigh. "I'm Kennedy by the way," She figured she should introduce herself considering she'd been in the middle of a conversation with her, the least she could do was tell her who she was.

Stephanie looked at him confused when out of the blue he'd said something like that, "What are you talking about?" She asked with a slight chuckle. "You're cute, you know that?" She asked laughing some now as she looked at him. "I know though, I guess i'm just a sucker for a hard luck case," she teased having known Aiden had some problems before, first with drinking and then smoking when he'd returned from Iraq. He must have quit though, either that or he hid his addiction well from her, because since the two were spending so much time together he'd never smelt of cigarettes or anything. She smiled as she looked infront of them as they started to walk, she was just glad and thankful that he could let her in his life like that to help him through those things. One day she might need help herself and she hoped Aiden would do the same for her. She knew he would though, he would always be there for her no matter what.
Stephanie's eyes widened as he directed his words towards a group near them, and couldn't help but grin as she watched him. "We should have figured the entire team would be here." she let out a groan, the team could be so immature sometimes whether male or female, but still this had been something big that Stephanie and Aiden had been displaying tonight. Something entirely out of the norm, who wouldn't want to stare at the two of them? She just rolled her eyes when he commented on the males giving her all sorts of attention, she knew that to be true but she also knew that those men were nothing that she had wanted. Sure the team did have it's attractive players, but their personalities turned her off more than anything. She hated how they would throw themselves in her direction, though it was so easy passing them off to another girl on the team, and eventually the men did get the hint and lay off of her. Now that she had been with Aiden though she had a feeling not too many of the teammates would try anything anymore, either that or they would have to deal with Aiden and she was guessing he could be pretty protective. Of course he could be, it was Aiden she was talking about.
And just like that he throws a lame comment out into the air, Stephanie of course laughing as she rolled her eyes playfully this time as she stopped to look up at him. "There are so many girls around prettier than me." she said as she looked around and pointed out a tall blonde in a short dress that had been dancing with a group. "Her for one, she's gorgeous." Stephanie had never found herself that attractive, she just hated being viewed as that, she wasn't supposed to be beautiful. She was supposed to be, well normal. When he kissed her she scrunched her nose up embarassed as she could hear the small crowd around them. "Easy for you to say." She told him against his lips so only he could hear. "You so owe me after tonight." she said with a grin as she gave him another simple peck and pulled away to take another drink, her bottle already half gone because drinking water seemed the best thing to do while trying to ignore her nerves. Aiden simply laughed as she questioned what he was talking about. He knew he could be random at times but sometimes there was no stopping it. As she mentioned his cuteness he grinned, "I know it's a curse really," he joked as he winked down at her. And a hard case Aiden was. She had seen him go through alcoholic stages, smoking phases, and even being temporarily paralyzed from the waist down. He had so much to thank her for yet she saw it as nothing. He knew he would have done it all for her too. She was his world and no one was gonna take that from him anymore. "I know it's because you looooove me," he said in a teasing voice as he put his hands in hers and grinned like a little kid. He loved to be able to say that world quite a bit easier now. Aiden nodded as he saw all the familiar faces around them. The teams were their families. They had all grown close over the years and so this of course would come as a shocker he knew. Though they could take it a bit overboard and he knew Stephanie liked attention but not this much attention. "Of course they wouldn't miss a chance to let loose after coach has been riding our asses so hard," he chuckled as he thought about the last few practices. Both the girls and the guys teams were doing exceptionally well but their coach didn't want that to get to their heads and ruin the rest of the season. "It'll be fun when we both make it to state and go out of town together and god let's just hope you don't get sick of me." He grinned as he leaned over and kissed her forehead after saying that. His last sentence had been soft and the worlds had only been meant for her ears. "Are you mad?!" He simply exclaimed as she said there were many other prettier girls than her. Steph had always had a problem with seeing herself as beautiful even though she was. Aiden's eyes followed her finger as he saw the blonde she had pointed out. Aiden wrinkled up his nose as he shook his head, "If you'd like to date a bean pole I guess she'd be better. I'm pretty sure if she stood straight and you walked to the side she would disappear." He joked about how un-curvy the girl was. "Now me I prefer beautiful brunettes with beautiful eyes, an amazing smile, and an athletic body. Do you know where I could find one of those girls?" He teased as he looked down at her and arched an eyebrow. He smirked against her lips as he knew she was completely embarrassed. He kept his hands on her hips and her body near as he stood up straight the smirk playing strong on his lips, "Ooooh and what do you have in mind for me Davis?" He asked arching an eyebrow again as he leaned his forehead against hers keeping their eyes level as he gazed into them.

I'd like to raise you high 'Cause I think everyone deserves the chance to fly Kayleigh looked around wondering if the girl had understood her question. Kayleigh had a habit of asking questions but not explaining them properly. She would ask a question but it would either come out completely wrong or the person she was talking to wouldn't understand the question. It was an endearing yet extremely frustrating trait Kayleigh seemed to possess. Jack had told her so many times.
Jack. Kayleigh resisted the urge to roll her eyes and instead cursed herself inwardly. She was supposed to be trying to forget him and move on. She hadn't seen him in about six years, the time she had left New York. Yet after all this time she was still thinking about him. His sense of humor; his compassion; the sound of his voice; his smell. With a huge effort that seemed to cause Kayleigh more pain than easing it, she brought herself back to the present and her companion. Well, the girl she was sitting next to at any rate.
"Yeah, it seems someone is always putting something like this together. I have to say they sort of picked a crappy spot this time around." Kayleigh snorted in a very unlady-like fashion. She cast another glance around them at the old barn. With all the constantly moving body's in such a small, confined space and such loud music it did indeed look 'crap'. She suspected that on an ordinary day it would be a nice place to hang out but it was definitely not a place for a party on this scale. "I don't usually head to all of them though, I honestly don't even know what brought me here tonight."
"You and me both," Kayleigh stated, swirling the drink around in her cup before taking a swig. She wiped the moisture from her top lip. She noticed the girl looking around the barn. From the look on her face Kayleigh gathered that she was looking for someone. Kayleigh said nothing for the moment.
"It's not a bad thing that you're sitting here, it just means that you have enough class to not get drunk and bump and grind with anything that moves."
Once again Kayleigh snorted in amusement, this time at the image that had been painted in her head. "Believe me, that's not something I intend to do anytime soon - I've seen it happen before and it all ends in tears," she commented, sighing heavily at the memories. None of them good although she was thankful she's had enough sense not to get herself into that kind of trouble. Once again Kayleigh noticed her companion staring at someone before quickly glancing away. Kayleigh raised an eyebrow, following the lone of site.
"Friend of yours?" she asked casually, nodding in the general direction that the girl had been staring into.
"You've never been to a party?" Kayleigh twisted her mouth to the side, contemplating the question for a moment. "Not many," she finally admitted. "To be honest I dunno why I'm even here either. I guess I just wanted to check out the scene really..." she shrugged offhandedly. Was that really the reason why? Or did she just want an excuse to get out of the dump she currently called home? Or to forget everything for the evening?
"Well if you have never been to a party you sure kick things off with a bang. They're not all that bad though, well when you're with a friend anyway. I'm Kennedy by the way."
Kayleigh figured that she liked Kennedy. She seemed to be a nice girl which Kayleigh figured was something of a rarity these days. "I'm Kayleigh," she returned, smiling back at Kennedy.

Emma followed Lance to the dance floor, a huge smile on her face as they walked in amongst the people. It was their first thing in public as a couple and it seemed like he was proud to show her off too, not that she'd really expected otherwise. It was lucky though that she hadn't seen Kennedy or else she may have started to question herself and the relationship all together. Aside from her son, Lance was the only thing she had in her life right now and she didn't know what she'd do if she lost that.
The music was upbeat and fun and dancing with Lance made her smile only grow. Some hip hop song she knew was on and she tried to sing along, pretending to be as thug-ish as possible, which was rather humorous and she couldn't help but laugh at herself. "Aren't I just the best singer?" she joked with Lance as they continued to dance. She grinned and eventually found herself pulling him closer to her, her eyes not breaking from his. "I think I'm falling in love with you.." she found herself saying to him, unable to stop herself. It was just one of those moments where the timing felt right and she was so sure he'd say it back. But was she wrong? Had she mistaken where they were at? They'd happened so fast and hadn't even really told that many people about their relationship yet... Emma all of a sudden got very nervous and wished she'd had a few drinks before letting that slip. But hey, she hadn't exactly used the l word...

Lance had really enjoyed his times with Emma. She had been just what he needed while he was still dealing with the confusion that was his stance with Kennedy. When it was just him and Emma he could forget all about it. He was able to be himself without having to worry about saying the wrong thing or sparking an argument out of nothing. He had been relieved because he had not even shared his first fight with Emma. Everything was going smoothly for them and sometimes it worried him because it seemed to be going too smoothly. As he watched Emma let loose as they danced he could help but grin. He knew the party scene wasn't here thing but to see her letting loose here made him happy to know that she didn't worry about what others thought when she was with him. As she started to rap along with the song Lance nodded his head as if going along with it.
"I think we might just have to leave the singing and rapping to the musically talented one in this relationship. Me, obviously." He joked as a goofy grin appeared on his lips. They had gained a bit of attention from old friends in high school. Though they were current ones for Emma. The girl was so mature he always forgot she was still in high school. She amazed him in almost every single aspect possible which is what had struck the attraction in the first place. As the two had grown closer and their hips bumped as the song went on he was definitely enjoying himself. Though he felt his body fall out of sync with her for a moment as she said the word love. He faltered for a moment but quickly recovered and was back in tempo. He didn't exactly know what to say to this statement. He lost her eye contact for a moment but regained it as the words came to him, "I think i'm falling for you too."
Lance couldn't get the word love to fall from his lips. He had just said it not too long ago to Kennedy on that night they had shared. He couldn't just turn around and use again on a completely different girl..right? His eyes again wandered over to the blonde sitting aside chatting it up with another blonde he had never met before. Though they were quickly brought back to Emma as a smile came to his lips as he lifted a hand to brush her bangs out of her face. He continued to dance with her, "My, my miss Walker you seem to be quite the party girl." He joked with her as he knew her stance about parties. Lance's hands had now reached her hips as they danced wanting to keep physical contact with her.

"And I for one am done crying," Kennedy said with a nod understandably after Kayleigh had mentioned how things usually end. She made sure to flash the girl a smile as well, though this smile was just something that'd try to ease the tension though Kennedy to be completely truthful had not been too happy witnessing the two of them together, she had heard rumors but honestly did not know how far the relationship had gone. "Men aren't worth the tears right?" She asked the other girl beside her, though at the same time she had been trying to get herself to believe the same story. No matter how many times she told herself that she should just stop the dramatics and get over him already she just couldn't, maybe it had something to do with the fact that they shared a kid together, or maybe it had nothing to do with that and there was some other burning desire within that made her completely incapable of moving on from Lance Wright. Obviously things had been different on his end considering it looked as though he'd been moving on just fine.
As the woman beside her made a casual connection between Kennedy and one of them that she'd been looking at Kennedy just shrugged leaning her back against the hay behind her letting her body sink against it. "You could say something like that." She said not sure of what she should tell her. Kayleigh had obviously came to the barn to enjoy and relax, not to help someone else deal with all their emotional baggage, so Kennedy didn't want to start unloading on her. The thought did come into her mind though that maybe talking to a complete stranger would help her get out of the funk that she had been in, maybe this complete stranger could change her mind and get her seeing things clearly once more, but now was definitely not the time nor the place to have that happen. "I am probably being so rude, I came over here and started to talk to you, and here I am completely spacing out and not giving you my full attention. I'm sorry," She felt the need to apologize, Kennedy just couldn't keep her thoughts straight watching the couple on the floor, the couple that at this moment seemed to be getting closer to each other and she leaned slightly to the side just as Lance placed his hands on her hips.
Daggers seemed to take aim and plunge into her chest as Kennedy sat straight up and closed her eyes for a second, no this should not be bothering her, and yet everything that the two had talked about not too long ago came flooding back into her mind. Those words that came from his lips that traveled through her ears and straight to her heart, they all seemed like mere lies as she watched his actions with this other woman. She couldn't be mad though, she had been the one that pushed him away all of those times, so why wouldn't he want to move on with his life? "Want a word of advice since you're new around here and all Kayleigh? She asked her turning her body to face the other womans as she brought her leg up on the bale of hay to get more comfortable, and that way she could give the other her complete attention. "Don't go giving your heart away too easily around here. Men around here seem to like to lie a lot, say whatever is convenient in the moment, and then will do the complete opposite just because, well because they lie." She shrugged looking at the other girl. She couldn't even form a complete thought as every single time her eyes blinked she saw flashes of the sight she'd just witnessed, the two of them so close with his hands placed so perfectly against her hips. "They're all the same, even the nicest man turns out to be nothing more than a compulsive greedy liar." She rolled her eyes, this wasn't what she'd wanted to do and she was probably scaring the woman that she was sitting beside.
"I'm sorry, I think that is my cue to go." she said nervously as she moved away from the girl bumping into a person that'd been sitting on the row of bales not too far from her. "Sorry, is it getting hot in here? I think I need some fresh air." She stood up dusting the back of her pants off as she made sure not to look in Lance's direction at all, the last thing she needed to see was anymore of their public displays that were going on. "It's not you, I swear, I just can't be in here right now. I thought I was okay with it but i'm not, and I can't have it staring me in the face. You're good company, i'm just, you deserve someone better to talk to." She said shaking her head feeling very bad for doing this to the girl right now. She just knew that she needed to get out of that barn. "I'm just going to go out there and get away from, well in here, so maybe i'll see you around or something?" She asked taking a step or two back from her. "It was nice meeting you Kayleigh, i'm sorry it ended like this." And with that she had to turn and head out of the barn. She made sure to sneak out the small door in the back so she did not have to get by them, the last thing she needed was to bump into them or anything.
She took a sigh as she managed to sneak outside and she found her way over to a part of the wall that had been bare, thankfully. She leaned her back against it and slid down so her knees were pressing against her chest and she locked her hands around them. She placed her head down and closed her eyes taking a few deep breathes, the last thing she was going to do was let him get the best of her, and yet here she was completely unhappy at a place that should be insanely happy all the way around. "Come on Kennedy, get ahold of yourself. He's moving on, you should too." She just hated the fact that it was so much harder for her to move on than him. She had their child staring her in the face each and every day, the exact spitting image of his father, and each time that he spoke saying those small sentences Kennedy could just picture his father. He was exactly like the man, even with the smallest of actions. It was kind of funny considering Lance spent practically no time with him. She let out a sigh, she'd either have to suck it up and find something to do here, or she would just go home early and call it just another night that Lance had ruined for her. Those seemed to be the norm lately.

He lost her eye contact for a moment but regained it as the words came to him, "I think i'm falling for you too." Lance couldn't get the word love to fall from his lips. He hadn't said love, but Emma didn't even seem to notice. She was simply happy that the situation hadn't gone completely awkward. In fact, she was very relieved. When he replied, she couldn't help but smile wider and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, still smiling as the kiss broke. Tonight was turning out to be a great night. She'd never expected to feel like this for someone after Landon, but yet here she was with Lance and things couldn't have been better. Emma felt so..alive. When he commented on her being a party girl, she just laughed and put on a suggestive smirk. "Party girl?" she questioned, still smirking. "Trust me, I'm not even trying yet.." she teased, turning so her back was towards him. In a move that was completely unlike her, she found herself sliding or rather, subtly grinding, down his body until she hit the floor, then slowly coming back up. She grinned and turned to face him again, breaking out in laughter. "Now that wasn't taught in dance class.." she said to him.

Lance was relieved she hadn't pressed the issue on the fact that he had not returned the word love. He wouldn't lie to her and say a word he didn't feel for her. He felt a wave confusion fall over him as he thought about why he didn't love her. She was perfect in every way so what was keeping him from just wanting her. Though he felt his mind wandering to Kennedy. He knew that he was still in love with that girl. He had just been so tired of the fighting and wanted a break from it all. Emma had been his great break though he felt bad because she was wanting more than he could provide for her. His lips crashed against hers for a few moments and he was only worried that Kennedy would see. After the kiss broke he forced a smile to come to his lips as he looked down at her. God he felt like a dick for having these thoughts and knowing he was probably incapable of loving Emma.
Though as she turned her body and pulled a move he would have never expected from him he felt aroused. He chewed on the inside of his cheek to hold back the flushed feeling. He smirked down at her though his eyes wandered over to where Kennedy had been sitting. Though the blonde was no where to be seen. He felt a bit panicked wondering if she had seen the kiss and left immediately. He felt the need to go and find her right at that moment. "I ha-have to go to the bathroom," he quickly uttered the words though quickly added, "I'll be right back." He flashed her a smile and a kiss on the forehead and quickly turned to leave the barn. He had caught a glimpse of Kennedy rounding a corner and picked up his pace to a jog.
Lance found her huddled up against a wall with her head in her hands. He slowed his pace and knelt down in front of her keeping his hands to himself knowing that any form of physical contact would be wrong and inappropriate. "Hey pretty girl," he said quietly not hint of flirtation in his voice he wasn't here to charm. He was here to make sure she was okay. His heart started racing as his eyes took in her beautiful features and everything that he loved was bottled into this one girl that sat in front of him. The only problem is that she hated him. He knew an argument was probably not too far away and he was already mentally preparing himself for it. He started searching for things to say and nothing seemed to be right. It sounded dumb in his head and knew she would just criticize him for it. Though this one question was the only thing that he could think of at the moment, "I know i'll sound stupid by asking this and you probably won't want to but you wanna tell me what's going on?" He asked quietly his face full of concern as he watched the girl silently. He shut his eyes for a moment fearing the anger that was about to erupt from the tiny blonde bombshell.

Kennedy could feel herself starting to calm down with each deep breathe she had taken. She would clench her hands into tight fists for three seconds at a time before letting them loosen up at her side. The tension seemed to disappear from her shoulders as she could finally start loosening up altogether. It was amazing the effect that Lance could have on Kennedy after all that had happened between the two of them. She still didn't even understand why she let him get to her like that, in the end it had been her fault that the two weren't together, and from the beginning she had been the one that was pushing him away. Why was it so difficult seeing him with another woman? Simple, Kennedy was still in love with him no matter what she told herself. When he had ran off with Rachel Kennedy was fine though, she didn't see him everywhere she went, but since his return those stupid feelings she'd had for him just kept flooding back into her system. She should have never fell in love with him, she should have stayed faithful to Rodney and none of this would have happened. Hell, by now she could have been married and had a child with the man that obviously cared for her more than Lance did, there that tension was coming back into her shoulders as she thought about the mistake she had made.
She just had to get up and walk it off, that is all she could do, and maybe get a drink while she was at it. She picked her head up and was about to move when she saw Lance coming her way in a rather steady pace. She rolled her eyes and dropped her head back into her hands, tonight just kept getting worse by the minute. She cringed when she heard what he had called her, sure the flirtatious tone that was usually there had been dropped tonight, but still hearing him even make any comment like that had her ready to snap. She looked up at him for only a second as he asked the next question, but soon pulled herself up off of the ground and dusted the dirt off of her pants. She almost felt sorry for the man, he should have known that talking to her at all tonight wasn't going to do anything but piss her off even more, and here he was almost wanting to sound like he was genuinely interested in what was going on. "Save the compliments for somebody who cares," She said solidly as she looked at him, her weight shifting all onto one leg as she crossed her arms infront of her chest and stared at him. The compliment having been his opening gesture, probably the worst thing he could have said to her even if it hadn't meant anything.
She wished she could have just walked away but that wasn't like her, Kenn had always been someone that had no problem speaking her mind, and especially on a night like this she just had to tell him what was on her mind. "You know when you left town with Rachel I was pissed off, I mean leaving me is one thing but to leave our son, you showed me right there that you weren't the man I once knew. When you came home you poured on the charm and told me all that bullshit about how you loved me and wanted to be a family again, and whatever other garbage you threw my way. The sad thing was I fell for it all, I believed you and that was my second mistake. My first was sleeping with you and developing those stupid feelings in the first place. I'm proud of my son, you hear that? My son, I don't need you around when all you do is lie to me. What was that in there? Come on, did you honestly not see me, or were you doing it just because you knew I was there? Trying to show off the new arm candy or something, not that she's got anything on me but still she's naive enough to fall for your little games. But then again you're good, I mean I fell for them at first too," She trailed off letting her thoughts collect as she turned from him for just a second to take another deep breathe.
"Tell me Lance, how is it parading around with a new girl every week? First it's Rachel, you're supposedly madly in love with her enough to get engaged to the bitch, and then it's over just like that because of me right? That's what you said, you couldn't be with her because of what you were feeling for me or something? That's right, not but a month or so ago you told me you loved me, boy you have one hell of a way of showing love for me. And now you're hanging out with her, not that I know where that relationship is going. It's funny, you'll run off and play daddy to her boy and yet your own damn child is right around the corner and he sees you how often? Oh right, only when it's convenient which means like maybe twice in the last month. I know about that chick in there, we all heard the stories about her, so what are you doing Lance?" She rolled her eyes as she looked at him for a moment without saying a word. "I loved you, want to know what i'm feeling right now? Hatred. Do me a favor and forget my number, forget me all together, and i'd say forget your son too but turns out you've practically already done that much. I'm not doing this anymore. You and me, completely over." She said shaking her head, this entire time not raising her voice and stepping closer to him so he would be the only one that heard her. She was pissed but it wasn't worth causing a scene over.
With that Kennedy felt entirely better, a huge smile appearing on her face as she placed her hand on his chest and patted three times before pulling her hand away. "It was fun Lance, this whole catch me if you can shit, but we all know it's not going anywhere so let's just leave it alone." She said, still smiling surprisingly. Sure she felt really good but instead her poor heart was breaking, just looking at his face made the sorrow creep up on her own. She could not show any emotion that could trigger a reaction from him though, so instead of saying anything she turned away from him and started to walk. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone along with a card, the cab driver that she had talked to earlier, and she started to dial the number. She had to get out of there and fast, her fingers trembling against the small pad on the phone. She closed her eyes and took a deep breathe again trying to calm herself, she couldn't let Lance see her like this. Not anymore, he couldn't know what effect he had on her.
