Lance was surprised she would do something like that. The fact that she cared about him still was baffling to him. He liked the idea though. That she still might have wanted to be with him. This night was only getting better with every passing word they shared. He had no idea she had given them his name when she was pregnant. He didn't comment on it because that whole was definitely a sore subject. He had been an ass and left her to go to New York. He had tried to be nice about the whole her being a bitch in high school. He had chosen to ignore it because he had been in love with the girl but he heard from Rachel everyday how Kennedy would go out of her way to be mean to her. "Well I was trying to be nice I guess," he laughed lightly as he looked at her. "Yeah you know i've managed to act like even more of an ass since I got out of high school." He shook his head at the idea.
He was gonna hopefully change that since he had mostly been an ass to her. If tonight was a foreshadow of how things would go for them then things could easily change for them. His face lit up as she brought up his music. "Things are going well just finishing up a few things on my album before it gets released. Pleasant is getting an early release so we can see how things go review wise." He truly wanted to make it as a musical artist because he had given up his sport dream for this. When she invited him over to spend time with Ryan he could have jumped for joy. "Yeah, yeah i'd love to come over and play for him," he said with a smile a mile wide.
His whole album had been about people in his life. He had a few songs he had written for Kennedy and Ryan on there. He was having a great time with her tonight. He kept her laughing which he loved to do. He had an amused look on his face as she was going against everything her body was doing. "It's just a slow dance Kenn nothing extreme obviously," he said with a smirk as he took her hand and pushed himself off the ground with the other hand. He leaned over to turn up the radio so it was a little more audible yet you could easily hear each other talk. He placed his hands on her waist and stood close to her as they started to sway to the music.

She laughed nodding as he made the comment about himself being more of an ass now, "I am not going to disagree with that one'" She said giving him a slight grin. She knew that she had turned more into a bitch too since high school, but she had Ryan's best interest at heart and did not need him getting close to his father if he were just going to run off again. She hated knowing that he was giving Emma and her child all the attention he could, and yet when it came to Kenn and Ryan he was rarely around. She understood though, everytime that he had offered to hang out she pretty much turned him down starting some sort of arguement in the process. "At least you're not so bad tonight, must be that blow to the head smartened you up huh?" She tried to make light of the accident even though she knew that was very serious to him. He looked nice though and was walking nicely, and the fact that he hadn't been wrapped in bandages or anything made her feel better tonight. She hated knowing that she was the reason he had been so physically hurt.
She nodded when he talked about his music, she had heard some buzz about him around the city from some people at the diner, said he could get pretty big and popular with the country if he could keep his eyes on the prize. Kennedy hoped for the best with him but also hoped that he would keep his hometown roots if he were to blow up with fame, the last thing she needed was for him to change and not be the same Lance she had known and loved at one point. She still did love him though, she just tried to deny it even though it had been written all across her face with each longing expression she would give him. "Is this really the best place to kick things off, people around here already know you and what if they give you bad reviews or something just because they never liked you in school or something?" She knew the people around here wouldn't be that harsh though, she hoped. She knew if it had been her the reviews would be horrible, he was more accepted thankfully. He was a great guy though and most knew it even if he had made some mistakes. Nobody was perfect, she knew that much for a fact.
"Nothing extreme, just a slow dance, got it." She said with a smile as she helped him up and soon could feel his hands on her waist. She took a deep relaxing breathe and went and brought her hands up to his shoulders letting them rest on them as she bit her lower lip nervously as she tuned on the music and swayed along with him not wanting to mess up. She could feel her nerves starting to calm back down as she opened her eyes and brought them up to his gaze smiling just faintly. "We probably look like a couple of dorks right about now dancing to a small little portable player at the quarry." She laughed shaking her head, thank god nobody else had been around right now so the two could at least be at peace and not worry about what others were thinking. "I guess it's nice to have a dance on new years though right, i'm sure they're doing it at the restaurant." She nodded, she was sure it was a blast there but right about now she could care less, she was exactly where she wanted to be.

Lance smirked as she agreed with him being an ass. Of all people she was one who got to agree with him. He had truly only been an ass to her though. Everyone else loved him for some reason. He really didn't understand why he was so liked around here but he wasn't going to question it. He laughed lightly at the accident joke. He still had a hard time sleeping he would have nightmares and wake up in a cold sweat. He hated being alone lately but he didn't have a choice because it was that or he would go see Emma and that just wasn't fair to the girl. "Yeah I guess that accident turned out for the better," he joked as he gave her a quick wink.
He had thought about that the whole starting here in his hometown. Though with all the fan letters he had already been getting with his small show he had done at a cafe here in Pleasant convinced him that it might just be a good thing, "Yeah well my hometown is gonna be my toughest critics so I guess I just have to hope for the best." He did hope that things wouldn't be too bad and they would just be spiteful against him. He knew it wasn't going to all be good things but he could only hope for the best. He knew they would still release the album nation wide they just wanted to see if a tour should be scheduled quickly or delay it for a while.
He gave her a reassuring smile as she placed her hands on his shoulders. Their bodies drifted closer as the song went on. "Yeah well I don't mind looking like a dork because i'm the happiest i've been in a while," he said quietly as he grazed her cheek with his hand gently. He brushed his thumb across it leaving his hand there to caress her cheek. Having no worries about being intimate with her tonight was an amazing feeling. "Yeah that restaurant was crazy packed when I passed it on the way back here. Seeing all those people only solidified that being here tonight was better than anything I could have hoped for." He was glad to have run into her tonight. He hadn't seen this side of Kennedy in a long time and it just helped reinforce the loving feelings he had for her.

Kennedy looked over and watched him unsure of what she could say about the accident. "Yeah, I just wish you could have came to your senses without having that happen though. Are you doing alright? Has Emma been there for you?" Knowing that the two were going to break up made it easier to talk about her. She wished she could have been there for Lance, it just seemed like she should have been the one that had been at his side when he needed it. "Are you still staying at the hotel or are you back with your brother? Or is there another place I don't know about?" The last time that she had talked to him he had been staying at the hotel, now she had no idea where he could have been. If he had needed a place and the two were on better terms Kennedy would have taken him in when he had gotten back to town, but that would have been a bad idea considering their history together. She would have taken him in in a heartbeat after the accident though because he shouldn't be alone, so of course she was wondering if there had been that specific person taking care of him. He seemed to be doing good though, she was proud of him for that. "How about next time you decide to drink you call a cab? I have a business card from one of them, he's great and usually hauls me around when my car dies on me." Which seemed to be all the time. He dropped his rates some so Kennedy could get back and forth to doctors appointments and those sorts of things when her car breaks down, but she just doesn't dare spend the money she received after her mother had died for another one. She just did not feel right taking her mothers money, the woman was young and should have still been alive. Kennedy knew she was never coming back but she still just could not bring herself to do it.
She just nodded about the critics thing. She honestly could not remember if she had heard him sing that much, maybe some drunken karaoke but nothing else she didn't think, so of course she would be one of the people spending the money on a ticket to watch his first exclusive concert for the cities people. That is if he wanted her there, if it would make him nervous she could stay away so he could do the best job possible to get the best reviews. She would do whatever he wanted her to do, that is what needed to happen. Dancing with him had felt nice though, their bodies inching closer as the music played on, it just seemed almost perfect like it had been those few years ago. "Come on Lance we know that you have been happy, I see you with a smile on your face all the time around the city. Plus with Emma, you can't tell me that she didn't make you happy." Kennedy could remember that night at the party when she saw the two of them dancing, the grins on their faces playing in her mind as she knew he had been happier than most anyone that night. She would not mention that specific time though, she did not want to start an arguement.
She let her eyes fall shut as he placed his hand on her cheek, a smile appearing out of nowhere as she just let herself get carried away in the entire situation. "I miss this," She said quietly unaware that she had said anything, it just seemed like the right thing to come from her lips as she had been feeling perfect tonight. She opened her eyes slowly to gaze into his as her smile widened just a bit more. "Want to know what else I miss though?" She asked as she carefully brought her hands around his neck and pulled him closer to her so she could kiss him, something she had been wanting to do since she had seen him tonight. That damn voice message started to play in her mind again as he had kept telling her he was happy and such, so of course she just needed to kiss him and get it out of her system. That way she could be on cloud nine for the rest of the night without him having to worry about any sort of arguement, fighting would be the last thing on her mind. She broke the simple kiss as she bit her bottom lip somewhat nervously unsure of how he would react, but at the same time she had a sheepish grin appear across her lips. "I wanted to do that so I just did, happy new year?" She honestly had no idea what to say as she pulled herself away from him all together wanting to just bust out in a fit of laughter, but instead she walked backwards until she could feel her foot hit the trunk of the tree and then she just leaned back against it, she needed to catch her balance as it seemed her body had been floating inches from the ground, of course it only being a feeling.

Lance nodded, "Not my proudest moment obviously." He had honestly been ashamed of himself for letting it end the way it did. He wished he could have just walked away from it all and called her the next day or something. Though he was kind of glad it happened because otherwise he wouldn't have gotten that kiss from her and he would still be with Emma only making it worse in the long run. He had a feeling fate was playing a funny little game with him. Though hopefully things would turn out for the better for him. "I don't sleep well probably had a few hours of sleep since I was released from the hospital. I'm still in the hotel though my record label is paying for it until I find a place. So i've been by myself mostly," He told her straight up what had been happening. He was wondering why she was so curious it wasn't like she would offer him a place to stay. She was being amazing tonight but that was just a bit too unbelievable.
"By the time i'm that drunk I don't remember to do much especially call a cab. I'm usually not by myself though and i've driven myself home drunk plenty of times. I guess that was just the end of my I think i'm invincible and nothing could go wrong stage." He always thought he would be fine but that night he had been so worried about never getting to be with Kennedy again. He remembered bits and pieces of the car ride as they were slowly coming back to him. The doctor said it was normal and not to strain himself on trying to remember. "I haven't talked to Aiden in so long we don't even really bother to try and mend our relationship." They had been in too many fights and said too many hurtful things. He cut Aiden out of his life when he had been in his drunken state. He had reminded him too much of their father and he had remembered the promise they had made to each other about never becoming like that.
As she brought up how he had been happy he shrugged it off, "I think I put on a front to seem happy though I was at first and the happiness faded away after a while. I've missed being with you like this just being together has always been enough for me. Just enjoying each other's company and not worrying about the outside world. Just you and me. That's always when i've been happiest." Of course he wasn't talking about the arguments that was obvious but it had been true when they hadn't been arguing he had been truly happy with her. He remembered the earlier parts of that night when he had seen the hurt look on her face when he had been with Emma. He would never forget it because he had felt terrible.
He smiled and nodded in silent agreement as she said she had missed this. They kept close to each other as they swayed to the music that had seemed to fade as they got closer. As she opened her eyes to look at him he never broke contact. Before he could say anything her lips were against his. He didn't react at first because he was shocked but he began to kiss her back. The kiss had been over too fast for him as she pulled away and bit her lip. She always looked damn cute when she did that. As she backed away from him to the tree he smirked at her. He took steps closer to her their bodies close again as her back leaned against the tree. He placed one hand on the tree and the other on her waist. He leaned down and his lips brushed hers as he spoke, "Not so fast there," and he planted his lips against hers pouring all his love for her into the kiss.

Kennedy let out a soft sigh, she had a feeling he was going to say that. She remembered the night at the hotel when she had slipped and gotten a nice egg on her forehead, he had stayed with her that night and that hadn't been too bad. Tonight seemed to be going alright, maybe she could top it off by inviting him over to crash in the spare bedroom or something? That just sounded too far out there compared to what usually went on between the two of them, though tonight had seemed like a miracle and something unusual. They were both happy and not fighting or anything of the sort, this was absolutely amazing.
"You should talk to him sometime." She said quietly looking up at him, she knew what it had felt like to have severed ties with a relative and most of the time it had sucked. She understood about him and Aiden though and was sure that having that brotherly love relationship was something the two of them were never going to be able to do. And then he went straight into answering her question about happiness, of course Kennedy listening carefully wondering about everything he was saying. She was so happy to hear that his happiest times were when it had just been him and her, no outside world. "You know we have someone else to add into this equation right? Ryan, he makes everything just so much better." That was for sure, that little boy was the best thing that had happened to her and she owed it all to Lance, but praising him for cheating on his girlfriend and getting her pregnant in high school did not seem like a good thing to do so instead she just kept it to herself. She wished she could have had at least a degree under her belt so she didn't have to make a living waiting tables at the diner, but she knew that with at least an open mind something was going to come to her and she would be ready for it one day or another. She was not going to be stuck at that diner for the rest of her life.
The worst part about right now had been that with all their talking Kennedy had been getting lost in their words, and just like that she had planted that kiss on him. She backed up thinking that it would be over just like that, but soon she watched his steps getting closer. Her eyes widened as she had no idea what was just happening here, but it seemed all her cares melted away as he spoke against her lips, one of his hands resting against her waist causing cold chills to get sent shooting up her spine rushing out all across her body. Her hands, well she had no idea what to do with them as she patted against the tree behind her as though trying to find a way to back up even further, but just as soon as he had gotten done saying that simple sentence she could feel him kissing her. Not just some random peck either but an actual kiss of passion. Kennedy had probably seemed stupid as her lips seemed limp for a moment as her mind was going crazy, but soon her mind and body made that connection and she brought effort into the kiss as well not wanting to leave him hanging.
Her hands found their way to his chest as she placed them there just incase if she needed leverage, if she had became uncomfortable she could push him away, but also of course there had been the reason that she had just loved to touch the mans chest. He was beautiful, Kennedy had been one lucky woman back when the two were an item, and of course she thought she was pretty lucky at times like this when they were embraced in a kiss. She did feel the need for a breathe though as she put some force through her hands to break the kiss as she let her head fall to the side taking deep breathe after deep breathe. "I did not expect that," was all she could manage to say, though in her mind she could only form small words like wow and damn at the moment, though saying those outloud would make her look like nothing more than a moron.

Lance nodded when she said he should talk to his brother. It was a sore subject with him though anything about his family was a sore subject. He had pretty much called it quits with them when Aiden had become a drunk. He had no idea about him going to war or being shot because that was just how much they didn't talk. He knew Stephanie Davis didn't like him because he wouldn't talk to Aiden. Though he got defensive and told her to basically screw off because she didn't understand the situation one bit. She was hearing only one side of the story plus the last her had heard from the town they were finally an item now. "Yeah i'll work on that...." He knew it would never happen because his relationship with his family was just too gone. He just wanted to work on getting back and mending his family. He wanted to get back with Kennedy eventually and be a great father to Ryan.
He smiled as she mentioned Ryan and adding him to the equation. He was always careful when he talked about their son. He hadn't been the best dad so he felt like he didn't have the right to say some things around her. She had been an amazing mother without his loser self. He admired her so much for doing all that herself. He knew she was a strong woman though another thing he had admired about her. He hoped this was finally the door opening that he would be able to step in and be a father to his son. He had always had the opportunity it was just that Kenn hadn't really wanted him around which he had respected at the time.
He was worried for a few moments as she didn't respond to his kiss though he had been pretty forward. He was glad whenever she responded his body leaning into hers as he felt her hands go against his chest. After she pulled back from the kiss he backed off a bit keeping his hands on her waist though. He felt the need to touch her in this moment to keep things intimate with her. He laughed at her response, "Sorry, i've just been dying to do that." He never could have enough with her and always liked to push the limits when he felt comfortable enough to do so. He took one of her hands in his and laced their fingers as he his eyes glanced over her. He still couldn't believe this was happening but was definitely thankful for it.

Kennedy had not minded when he was forward with her, sometimes it helped loosen her up and make her feel more comfortable. Having him do what he had just after she had kissed him had been a good thing, if he would have responded differently she would have taken that as a bad sign and from there she would have clamped shut once more and it would have left for an ackward night. As she pulled away from the kiss though she could still feel his hands on her waist, something that she did not mind at all. "I almost wished I had dressed up tonight now," She commented looking down at her clothes though her eyes seemed to be fixed on his hands touching her. She mouthed a quiet 'wow' to herself because honestly she had no idea what was going on here tonight, the two were just so happy together and things were just going great.
Kennedy had to let him listen to the message. She just had to, that had been the reason she was so damn happy tonight and she wanted to make sure those words had been real. She could not move from her spot right now as she looked back up into his eyes and couldn't help but smile, her hands coming off of his chest and traveling down towards his sides. She had no idea why she had been doing this but as she reached right where the waist of his pants sat she grabbed ahold of the fabric and pulled him close and right up against her, her lips crashing back into his not wanting this kiss to end just yet. It had been a while and who knows how long it will be before she has a chance to do this again, so she sure was going to take advantage of the situation.
The entire time her lips had been pressed against his she could not help but remember all the good times the two had shared. So much had happened to them in just a few years she could not believe it. There had been excitement mostly mixed with pretty much every other emotion on the spectrum, and no matter what emotions they shared it always seemed to find it's way back to happiness randomly. They were good for each other, even strangers could see it, so why on earth did she make things so complicated? Not tonight, she was not going to do that tonight. When he was pressed against her she brought her hands back up to rest on his shoulders as she pressed her back against the tree once more having nowhere to run anymore, she didn't feel the need to run for at least tonight. The start of the new year meant a whole new side to Kennedy, she could not wait.

Lance kept his eyes on her not wanting to look anywhere else. He was mesmerized by her whole being. Her beauty astounded him and kept his speechless at the moment. As she commented on her attire he chuckled softly, "You look beautiful as always," though it was a hidden compliment or at least that was how he took it. She wanted to look nice for him though he could honestly care less what she wore. She made tshirt and sweats look glamorous in his eyes. He knew that when you could find the beauty in someone in anything it had be love. To want to just be with the person and talk with them was enough. If only he could say that to her he knew though that it could go either way with her reaction so he stayed silent.
The smiles she was giving him just kept him happy and giddy. He felt his stomach flop as she looked at him those blue eyes rendering him speechless again. Shivers were sent down his spine as her hands moved down his sides. He looked down watching her hands as she tugged on his clothing to pull him closer. His gaze quickly moved up to her and a smirk appeared on his lips. Being this close to her made him crazy and craving more. As her lips moved closer to his he leaned in as well feeling a rush of happiness fall over him again.
He was taking in every moment of this and savoring it. He hoped this wouldn't be something rare for them. He hoped they would get to turn over a new leaf and start fresh with less arguments. He was tired of the fighting and had a feeling she was too. His teeth grazed her bottom lip as he continued to kiss her his hands wrapping around her waist now pulling her body into him even closer. He broke the kiss to catch his breath as he left his lips near hers, "I want to make you happy again Kenn." He said this softly letting his lips brush hers before planting a few brief kisses on her lips again. That would be his New Years resolution. To make sure he could be perfect for her. No more relationships unless it involved her and him being together.

Kennedy grinned some when he said she had looked beautiful, of course she did want to look gorgeous infront of him each and every single time the two had met up somewhere accidentally. She was almost thankful he didn't catch her at work that often because her outfit was usually always covered in ketchup and other condiments that the kids insist on wiping or flicking at her. Either that or it never fails that she'd lean on something in the kitchen that had been greasy and then she would end up having those grease spots all over her shirt, she seriously had been through so many shirts since working there but she couldn't wear them back once they had been stained. She needed the tips and part of the reason you got a good tip had been because of appearance so of course she tried to look good, but after a long shift her hair was starting to frizz and you could see nothing more than a drained expression on her face, that was very unattractive and she would probably hide in the kitchen if she'd seen Lance walk through the doors.
Kennedy found it amazing how with just the slightest touch from him he could send her on a rush, the feeling being like no other when she would get close to any other man. Maybe that had been one of the reasons she had kept to herself since high school, no other man seemed to be able to live up to Lance's expectations. This was all stuff that she had known but was afraid to share with Lance, she didn't want to sound pathetic by saying that she'd had this strange attraction to only him since the two were sneaking around in high school. His kisses were addicting though, each slight touch, or in this next case a major touch as she could feel his arms reach around her waist and pull her closer, Kennedy of course not fighting it as she let her body conform against his leaving not even a single gap.
Kennedy too had to catch her breathe as she took a few steady quiet breathes, her eyes now focused on his lips as they had been exactly what she had been craving right now. She almost couldn't comprehend what he had said so she had to force herself to look away so she could at least understand, and as she heard that he had just wanted to make her happy she looked up at him for a few seconds without saying a word. A wide grin had been spread across her face as she brought a hand up to ruffle it through his hair messing it up some' "There, now i'm happy." She said looking at his messed up short hair. she laughed and shook her head having just been ridiculous' "You do make me happy, i'm happier then I have been in a while tonight. There are some times when you make me miserable, but the good outweighs the bad. If I can have nights like this I can forget about the fighting and bickering," She told him leaning up to give him another quick peck on the lips, laughing some as her lips pressed against his just for that moment.

It was like they were playing a game with each other. Who could drive the other one crazy basically. Their bodies now pressing against each other leaving no room. He still felt like he wasn't getting enough she kept him wanting more without even trying. He noticed she had gotten a bit flustered when he kept talking to her his lips brushing hers with every word. So as she turned her head a smile appeared on his lips as he kept talking. When she reached up and messed with his hair he just shook his head and laughed lightly. He wasn't one to really care about his hair especially since it was pretty short. He reached up brushing his fingers across her cheek pushing some of her hair back behind her ear.
He listened to her and he knew he made her miserable at some points and he wished he didn't. "Well I wanna try and work on keeping the miserable part to a minimum," to think these two would never fight again was impossible. They were both too stubborn and strong headed. Though he was offering to stick around her as much as possible so he could keep her happy. He wanted to spend more time with her and Ryan. He was tired of going back to the hotel by himself the staff knowing him some having even become his friends over these past months. He had to start using the back entrance to get in though due to some of the hype from his album release.
He grinned as she pushed her lips against his. He couldn't get enough of them tonight. He pushed back against her lips gently. The kiss was a brief one and he leaned his forehead against hers moving his arms back around her waist. His eyes lost in hers the rest of the world having faded a while ago as they had gotten close. God did he love this girl his entire body was tingling with happiness. Nights like these were ones he lived for just to be with her and have them both be happy. He couldn't wait to add their son into this equation.

There had been so many reasons why she had loved Lance, everything down to the way he made her feel with even the slightest touch, and who could forget his quiet strong voice that spoke so highly of her. A girl that had caught his attention like Kennedy had would be stupid to not be in love with him with the small things he had done, she was just lucky that she had been the one that his heart had chosen. Sure they had started apart from each other in high school, both in relationships that people thought could last straight through graduation, but everything had changed when the two of them made that fateful first move to hang out alone. After that first time together everything else just sort of fell right into place for them.
Her hand rested on the back of his neck as his lips gently played against hers, Kennedy having liked the gentle side of him even though she loved the wild strong side of him as well. These two, sexual tension wasn't even a strong enough word in relationship to the feelings between them. So much had happened to them and each time they were around each other they were way too stressed and of course it had something to do with their desire for one another, anyone who saw them would make random comments about it. Kennedy usually just ignored them, she could care less what others say when it comes to her and Lance. If she had cared she would have stopped even contacting him back in high school when her cheerleading friends started to warn her about what could happen.
She knew they couldn't stay doing this all night, well not that she wouldn't mind considering they rarely talked like this and that could help avoid the conflict, but at the same time she needed to take things slow. She did not want to give herself this certain rush and not be able to control herself for the rest of the night, her mind seemed to do some crazy things when she was around him, so with that she went and broke the kiss once more and pushed away from the tree. She brought her hands down to rest on his arms holding onto him as she spun the two of them around so neithers back had been near the tree. "I think you invaded my space, Lance." she said with a grin as she looked over at him.
She pulled her body away from him so the two had a bit of space between them and she motioned down towards the music. "We were supposed to be having just a simple dance, remember? Why is it we can never keep anything simple?" That had not been a bad thing though, things were kept interesting and it was so much fun (when they weren't fighting that was). She went and since his hands were on her waist still she went and brought her hands to rest ontop of his and with that she started to slowly sway her hips along with the music watching him so he could follow suit. She grinned as she ran her fingertips up the sleeve of his shirt and down to his sides. "You're off by a beat or two," She joked letting her hands rest right on his hips as she brought her body close to his once more feeling a perfect rhythm come between their bodies. "There, that is more like it." She chuckled some as her eyes could not break contact with his.

They had been moving pretty fast to get close to each other since their current situation. So when she moved her hands and moved their bodies away from each other he wasn't surprised. He wasn't hurt or anything either because he could seen the smile still on her face. He understood things might have been going a bit fast for her and him. "Oh yeah? Well I think you liked me invading your space," he joked with a wink as he made no movements to get closer. He wasn't too stupid to not be able to take a hint. He could play it cool with her for a bit and just go back to talking. His eyes kept flashing down to those lips though as he could feel himself wanting to have more.
He laughed as she mentioned simple, "Because simple is merely two boring for people like us." He knew it was the sad truth though too. Things couldn't just be simple for the pair otherwise they would have just gotten together during high school and still been together today happy as could be with their son. No, they had to be complicated and make things even harder on themselves. They kept up their other relationships when they knew they only wanted each other. They may have had feelings for their old relationships but the feelings between them blew everything else out of the water. He would not and could not be with any other girl and have as much fun and be as happy as he was with Kennedy.
Though he didn't mind going back to dancing with her. It was nice to share these moments with her. To start off a new year with the woman he truly loved. Why he couldn't just come right out and say that to her was beyond him. Probably afraid of rejection at this point. He wasn't sure he could mend a broken heart if this was the girl to break it. He arched an eyebrow as he watched her move her hands on him loving every minute of it. As they fell into his sync his eyes never leaving hers. "I thought you weren't supposed to be good at this kinda thing," he teased her about the dancing as she said she would have been bad at it though of course she was spectacular despite her words.

He had been right, of course she hadn't minded him invading her space at all. If anything she was somewhat upset that she had moved away from him, even though it had not been that far at all. She laughed and nodded though at the simple comment, she had wished that things could be simple sometimes but she knew that it would never be that way between the two of them. Would Lance even be as aappealing if he had been nearly some simple person? Who was she kidding, of course he would still be appealing, just in a more simple and regular sort of way. The more she thought of it the more she was thankful things had been complicated. Complications kept things exciting since she never knew what was going to happen.
She had no reason to say anything though as she figured if the two went back to their slow and steady dance the silence could be more comfortable, but as he made the joke about it she looked up at him with a small hint of a devilish grin. "I'm good at a lot of things, you should know that though." She gave him a wink before she had to pull entirely away from him as she'd started to giggle some. "Okay, wow. I'm thirsty, I need to drink something," She walked back over and knelt down to get the bottle taking a small sip, so much for the glass she had brought that she had let Lance use. Kennedy was not that sophisticated tonight but only because she hadn't expected company.
"I want you to hear something," She told him finally as she looked over at him from where she was. She pulled her phone from her pocket and opened it up dialing her voicemail. She punched in the code so she could get to her messages, and from there she reached this saved message. She walked over to Lance and handed him the phone not telling him what it had been. "Just press one to hear it, alright?" She wanted to gauge his reaction as she stood there waiting, wondering if he had remembered anything about that call. She just wanted him to know exactly why she had been so damn happy tonight, he had been the one to put her in this mood.

Lance smirked as she brought up what she was good at. Disappointed though that she had pulled away from him after saying something like that to him. He watched her as she made her way to the champagne bottle. She sure was bubbly tonight and it brought a smile to his face. As she lifted the bottle to her lips he smirked it reminded him of back in their high school days. They weren't classy back then they just wanted get drunk at the time and have a good time. He stepped over to her taking the bottle after she was done and taking a brief sip before setting it back down on the ground. He had only wanted a little bit though so there was no point in pouring himself an entire glass.
He took his few steps back as he looked over to her curiously when she pulled her phone out of her pocket. He wondered if maybe she wanted him to see a few more pictures of Ryan or something. So as she handed him the phone after getting into her voice mail he took it hitting one and placing it to his ear. As he heard his voice he couldn't remember leaving her a voice mail. He furrowed his brow a bit as he listened to the slurring of his voice. He instantly started to remember what had happened on that drive home before hitting the semi.
He had been so upset from the argument with Kennedy. Having her tell him he was practically dead to her had killed him. He honestly felt like he had nothing left to live for. All these feelings that had been kept hidden because he had no idea what had happened were coming back to him. He didn't know exactly how to react as the message was abruptly cut off. He knew it was exactly how he felt he just couldn't believe he had told her. "Wow...." was all he could get out at the moment as he lowered the phone and hit end. He slowly lifted his arm and handed out the phone to her. He reached up with his other hand and scratched the back of his head, "I find it sad that I can tell you things when i'm drunk yet i'm afraid to tell you when i'm completely sober." This sad look had taken place on his face. He knew this message must have made her happy and he was glad for it because it was true and how he wanted to make her feel.
