WITH YOU IT'S NEVER DULL-TANNER

Allie had just gotten the text about the rave that was at the abandoned warehouse and she was deciding whether she was going to go or not. She sighed, right now she was in her room, if she wasn’t going to go to the rave then she would be going out somewhere else but she needed to know, they had talked about going to the rave but hadn’t come to a conclusion. Allie had told her friends that she wanted to go, she was waiting for her friends to see if they were wanting to go, well any of her friends really...not just her roomies. She had texted all her friends to ask them, since she didn’t know where they all were, but when her phone beeped she saw that she got a text from Caroline telling her that she was going to the rave. Well that was just one of her friends, now she just needed to wait for the others to text back. She smiled but then now it meant that would mean that she had to get an outfit ready, but first she went to get in the shower, since she figured it would make sense. She didn’t really know what she could wear, but she had a few things she could wear that would be a cool fit, she would just have to see, she often went to the rave every year. Coming out of the shower she grabbed her bath robe and went back into her room. She finally chose an outfit and got dressed. She looked in the mirror thinking her outfit looked pretty cool, she only needed some makeup and accessories now to make it complete, but she couldn’t decide what accessories to use, but she could always borrow something from Caroline.

Allie never really wore much makeup, she didn’t see the point of it because she hated how girls looked so fake with it on. But for the rave she and Caroline had each bought some bright coloured make up and agreed to share it. She had gone for bright blue on the eyes and gone for a bright pink shade of lip gloss. She then had gone into Caroline’s room and borrowed a few of her bright coloured bangles. She knew her friend wouldn’t mind at all since they were always borrowing each other’s clothes and stuff, it made sense, though she may be a little annoyed that she’d gone into her room, but she had done it before and she hadn’t really been that mad. They were way too good friends and way too familiar with each other that things like that didn’t even matter. Well that is what she thought anyway, she really would not mind if Caroline went to her room and borrowed her stuff. Whenever she couldn’t find something she always asked Caroline first, because she sometimes couldn’t remember what she lent her friend. They both probably had stuff of each others that they had forgotten about.

Allie got a text from Tanner, telling her he would be at the rave. She smiled and carried on out of the apartment to the warehouse. She wasn’t going to drive because she knew she would be drinking so she got a cab instead. When she arrived she got out and walked into the warehouse. The place was packed already, and it wasn’t that late, but she knew as the night drew on it would get even more crowded. She looked around too see if she could find Noah somewhere. She hadn’t told her friends about the time she spent with him the other day, nor was she going to either, that was something they were better off not knowing because they would just go on about him, she really couldn;t be bothered hearing it. She was looking for him so that they wouldn’t see him and start a scene. She couldn’t see him around yet so it was clear. As she pushed through the crowd she saw Tanner. She just had to creep up on him because he would have no idea, talking to someone else. She once again pushed through the crowd and came up behind him covering his eyes with her hands Guess whooo? she said trying to disguise her voice, but not doing a very good job of it.

Tanner was stuck at work with absolutely nothing to do. He hadn't had to serve a customer in over an hour and was now playing with the plastic straws, which they seemed to have a countless number of, with his coworker. A full on straw war broke out not too much later and the floor was now littered with a ton of empty straw wrappers. Tanner was out of breath, but still managing to laugh through his breathlessness. Luckily the store was still empty, otherwise they might have gotten in trouble for the havoc they just created. He checked his watch and knew they had just enough time to get it cleaned up before they would have to officially close down for the day. "Alright, well I guess we actually have some work to do now." His coworker matched his laughter as they began sweeping up the mess they created.

After about thirty minutes they had the place spotless and Tanner had already gotten a text from Allie. He leaned up against the counter and pulled out his phone to reply. Thank god, a rave was going on tonight. Tanner had been a bit restless as of late with school finally being over. He had taken a large course load, which had kept him extremely busy all semester. Now that he had nothing to do but work he was going to party his hardest. He quickly texted Allie back letting her know he would be there as soon as he got off work. He finished up closing fifteen minutes later and changed in the employee room having had extra clothes with him. After that he locked the doors to the establishment and jogged off to his car. He was ready to drink and have a good time, which was why the speed limits were merely suggestions as he headed over to the warehouse.

Tanner arrived at the rave and began to look around for his friends. He made sure to grab a beer from one of the many kegs that were scattered around the area. He bumped into one of his coworker's and began to talk to her, figuring Allie, or any of his other friends for that matter could come and find him. He felt a pair of slender hands fall over his eyes. A smile appeared on his lips as he began to wonder who had snuck up on him. His hand wrapped firmer around the beer as he lifted his free one to grab one of the hands that had covered his eyes. "Ummmmm," he began to verbally think out loud as he was told to guess who had caught him off guard. He knew full well who it was, but it wasn't unlike Tanner to put on a bit of show. "I'm thinking this girl is pretty amazing," he kept his thought process flowing out loud, a smirk now playing on his lips, "and I couldn't ask for a better friend. Soooo, i'm going to go with....Caroline?" He bit his bottom lip to keep himself from bursting into laughter. "I'm kidding!" Tanner called out finally removing her hands from his eyes, but keeping one of her hands in his as he turned around and pulled her into a hug, "Hey love," he said endearingly before letting her go and stepping back.

Tanner was happy to see that Noah wasn't with her. Luckily the son of a bitch hadn't been a part of her life right now. But Tanner wasn't naive enough to think it was a permanent thing. He didn't really understand Allie's attraction to the asshole, but he didn't want to upset Allie by making some snide remark at her ex's expense because he knew it bothered her when the roomies did it. "You look great as always," he said with a smile as he checked out his friend. It was in a completely platonic way considering he saw Allie as a friend, but he couldn't deny her good looks he would have to be crazy to. "Beer?" He asked extending his cup out to her in an offer for her to finish his if she wanted and he could grab them some more.

She smiled when he was thinking who it was, someone pretty amazing was right. Though she knew he was playing up to the act and putting on an act. Of course he knew it was her, now she was going to play along just as much, naturally. Caroline? she hit him playfully when he turned round to face him. Boy you better be kidding! she laughed Or you’ll get some kinda beating she laughed. She was totally kidding but she did find it funny when they joked around like they did. When you had been friends with someone for that long it was just so easy to be like that with someone, and of course she wouldn’t change it for anything. You so knew it was me she grinned You can never fool me Tanner Robbins she smiled at him. Oh she knew him all too well, just like he knew her. They had known each other since they were kids after all. I am glad you think so highly of me though she said and kissed his cheek. He then pulled her into a hug as he greeted her. hay yourself she smiled How’s it going? she asked him. Been here long? she asked him.

Of course I do she smiled at him, hugging him once again. She was quite ready to get drunk now, celebrate that college was fully over until September, she couldn’t be happier and was so glad that her parents had not talked her into taking summer classes, she would not have wanted to do that even if they had gone on and on and on at her for it. There were just some things Allie could be very stubborn about, when she didn’t want to do something, she wasn’t going to give in, one of those things she was stubborn about was Noah, and she refused to believe that he was no good, like all her friends kept telling her. She didn’t understand why they had to be so concerned about it though. Even though they were in it, it was her life, she should be able to do what she wanted to do right? Well that was what made sense to her. You look great too she smiled. She laughed as she saw him check her out, but didn’t comment because she knew all too well that there was nothing more to it that friendship. She did wonder why he was single though, he was such a great guy. He could easily get a girlfriend with his great looks too. He had a lot going for him and she kind of wanted to push him to take advantage of that. Of course she did not know how he felt about Caroline, if she did then she would be pushing the two together straight away, well she would be doing something to help anyway...well she would try and help but sometimes her helping backfired, it had done before but it hadn’t been too drastic.

She nodded when he offered the beer and took it. Thanks she smiled and downed it in one. Sooo..... she smiled nuding him slightly and walking back over to the keg to get some more beer, and a cup for her. Anything new I should know about? she asked him. I mean we have both been so busy with school and finals we haven’t gotten to talk all that much....thank god it’s over for the year right? she grinned. Any girls taken your fancy? she asked. Come on, gimme some gossip! You know I love a good gossip she said to him. If you tell me something...I'll tell you something...hows that? she asked.
