- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CAN WE PRETEND THAT AIRPLANES IN THE NIGHT SKY ARE LIKE SHOOTING STARS CAUSE I COULD REALLY USE A WISH RIGHT NOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A small ray of sun crept through the window, and disturbed the sleeping blond sprawled across the bed. It was obvious that the young blond has taken a long time trying to locate her bed. A pile of magazines has been knocked onto the floor, along with a desk lamp and several piles of clothes. There was a gentle knock at the door, but to Ruari, it was like someone had attempted to kick down the door. A groan left her lips and who ever was outside her bedroom felt this was a sign for them to enter her room. Turning her head on her pillow, she saw her cousin stood in the door way. It looked like she had a disappointed look on her face, but she never could be sure what she was thinking. The two relatives looked at each other in silence for a few minutes before her cousin's lips parted and she looked as if a bomb had hit the flat. "Ceira never came back last night, check your phone and see if she sent a text? Toast is downstairs." It wasn't a huge surprise to be fair, it was often Ceira would disappear for days and then return with no explanation. No matter what Ruari said to her little sister, she never got the message. The bedroom door closed and Ruari was left starring at the floor. Reaching for her bed-side table, she grabbed her cell phone and turned it on. Only to find no one had text her. Who would? After that party everyone would be stuck in bed with a headache. Already she could tell people would be texting each other of the wacky night they had. Looking over at her digatal clock she sighed when she saw the time. Being up at eight with a hangover wasn't what Ruari wished for.
Pushing her blanket toward the end of the bed, she swung her legs out of the bed and stood up stretching as she did so. Pulling open her closet doors she looked at the amount of clothes she had to choose from, but she didn't feel like setting a trend today. Pulling out a old pair of denim shorts, a gray baggy halter top that read 'maybe partying will help'. It only took her five minutes to put her allocated clothes on but her hair was beyond help. Looking into the mirror she pondered on what styles she could use for today. In the end, she decided to leave it messy and put it up in a messy bun. Quickly she did her make-up and grabbed a bag and threw in some essentials.
Ruari didn't bother saying goodbye or getting anything to eat. What she wanted right now, was a cup of coffee from Martha's coffee shop. The sun was her worst enemy and thank god she had her sun glasses. The coffee shop wasn't to far, so it wouldn't take her a long time to get there. What had actually happened last night? Walking through the street she avoided any contact with anyone, she didn't want any arguments. Especially right now. Ruari pushed open the doors of the coffee shop and was greeted by the smell of strong coffee. Reminded her of home. Reminded her of her mother. She sighed. She missed her mother. Walking in she ordered a cup of coffee and prayed it would help her headache.

For Sam heath it had been one of those days where he didn’t want to do anything. Much to his friend’s disgust he had lied and called in sick from work, when he wasn’t sick in the slightest, he was just extremely lazy, and today of all days especially. Now Sam knew that if he didn’t get out of the house he was just going to get glares from Logan, he thought that he should be working and had given him a bit of a lecture which he had hated, could the man just let him do what he wanted? God it was so hard to just do what he wanted these days, if it wasn’t one of his friends it was his parents that were going on at him it was one of his friends. He loved them all so much but it was really annoying when they went on and told him he was lazy. He knew that, and did not need telling, nor did he want to be told either. He was quite happy doing his own thing, and he would happily work the gig they were suppose to do tonight, he didn’t know why they all had to gte on his case. He wasn’t doing anything illegal, but what he did not get was that it was he who would lose out. All he thought was ‘well you guys don’t have day jobs, why can’t I not have a day job too?’ It was a good argument but the other guys had other stuff to do.
Sam being the youngest, they had all said he should learn more responsibility because he just was not responsible enough, and he never had been. He had always been the laziest of the group and he actually liked that. He didn’t often care that he was lazy, but one thing he did often get mistaken for was his rudeness. People got the wrong impression of him and he didn’t like that, he actually tried his best, and sometimes he just came off as rude but it wasn’t intentional and he didn’t really know when he was doing it because he was so used to being the way he was. Yes, he had been brought up correctly to use manners and he was polite at times, but he was rough around the edges and people who knew him had gotten used to it, his friends didn’t even often tell him now when he was being rude because there was no point in it, he was the way he was and they had gotten used to the fact that it was the way he was, he could help it, and it wasn’t that he didn’t want to change but he probably was so set in his ways that it would be hard for him to change his attitude, and when he didn’t really mean to be that rude, he mostly managed to kind of explain this to people he met and they gave him a second chance, some people did not however.
He slipped out of the apartment and walked to Martha’s coffee shop, where he was a regular since it was not very far. He was always going there for a coffee and a muffin or something to eat. Starbucks was further into town so when he couldn’t be bothered to go there, he went to Martha’s. There was a bit of a queue to wait but he didn’t mind, the staff knew him and sometimes he would get stuff free. The band had done a couple of gigs there so they had a reason to give him free stuff and let him cut in line. He didn’t have to wait too long though, as he was soon served. I will have.... he thought for a minute as he looked at the board. Can I have a chocolate milkshake and a blueberry muffin please he told the woman behind the counter. He paid the money and waited for his drink. He was going to take it out but he saw Rauri and thought he might as well go over and annoy her, well keep her company...though he could annoy her too, all in friendliness though of course. hay beautiful he smiled. They had dated briefly, and even though it had ended they had managed to stay friends, and he was still flirty with her and obviously still called her ‘beautiful’ and ‘gorgeous’ and whatever other words he could think of. How are you doing today then? he asked sitting down, placing his muffin and drink on the table and stretching his legs.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CAN WE PRETEND THAT AIRPLANES IN THE NIGHT SKY ARE LIKE SHOOTING STARS CAUSE I COULD REALLY USE A WISH RIGHT NOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The smell of coffee brought back a lot of memories for Ruari, although these weren't really the good memories that she needed right now. It was odd how the smell of coffee trigger her memory of her family back in Oxford. Every morning she'd wake up and go downstairs into the kitchen, to already see her parents dressed and ready for work. Most of the time they had a cup of coffee in their hand and were discussing how their days would probably go. She missed that. Standing in the kitchen in her blue dressing gown, the rain pattering on the window. It had been daunting for Ruari to step into the kitchen again, especially in the morning. The death had taken a toll on everyone, and little things would bother everyone. The clearest memory she had of her mother is when she would stick little notes on the fridge, telling everyone their daily chores or how much she loved everyone. Maybe what the Johnson siblings had done wasn't the best approach. After all they had moved to America to avoid thinking about the death of their mother. Although it wouldn't last forever, either Addison or Ceira would move back when they could, but Ruari was quiet comfortable here. Although she knew at some point she'd have to get a job so she could pay the rent with her older cousin, and look after Ceira. If she was ever around.
Ruari tightened her grip around the warm coffee cup and sighed. Maybe she should text her? Although she didn't want to get told she was being obsessive again, that was the last thing she wanted. Picking up her bag she looked through it, and she never noticed how much crap she had in there. Make-up, bottled water, her purse, millions of receipts, phone numbers on paper. Pulling out her Iphone she quickly text her little sister a text message: Ceira, where r u? I thought u was coming str8 home! U PROMISED. X It was annoying. Only twenty-four hours ago Ceira had gone to a party and promised Ruari she'd be back, and the latest she'd be back at was five. Apparently she had never come home at all. Hopefully she'd reply and was just at a friends house. Although if she did return home, someone would let her know. Placing her phone on the table she put her bag on the floor under her chair. This was agony.
Taking a sip of her coffee, the sound of chatter made her head thump and she winced at the door slamming shut. Must of been some party. The sound of a chair scrapping on the floor caught her attention. Someone was sitting at her table, and when she saw who it was she felt slightly awkward. It was her ex-boyfriend, but luckily things hadn't ended in shouting and cursing. Ruari smiled and looked at him, "Why hello there. Her British accent easily stuck out in a place like this. Just as she was about to answer his question her phone vibrated aggressively on the table and it became her main priority. Grabbing her phone she unlocked her phone and saw it was a text from her little sister. It didn't take her long to open it, after all it was her sister, she had to know where she was and what she was doing. Sis, chill, imma be bk home soon. Couple of days tops. ILY! Xx She was a pain in the ass. She couldn't reply to that so she simply dropped her phone on the table and took a huge gulp of her coffee. "Me? I'm smashing dear. Slight hangover but that will clear up soon. What about you? How is the band?" Ruari had never really been the best person to talk to in the morning, especially with a hangover but sometimes she could be very approachable, if she had her coffee.

He smiled slightly hmm, you sure about that? he asked. Something made him unsure that she was 100% alright. Well the hangover would do that a little bit but he couldn’t help think there was something else bothering her. He did love her British accent though, he had to admit it was sexy. It was one of the things that had attracted him to her. He watched her pick up her phone when it vibrated and then put it back on the table with a bit of a force. yeah...doesn’t seem alright to me he told her with a knowing look. He wasn’t a great listener, or good at giving advice but he would try at least, well with his friends, anyone else he would just not really pay attention at all. He would have been no use as a doctor or something like that. When people in the store came in for something specific, a lot of the time he switched off and he didn’t want to listen. Unless it was a hot girl, in that case he was all ears. With Ruari they had known each other a while, and had dated, they were on good terms so he would obviously be nice to her. If they had ended badly it would be a different story, he would have wanted to really annoy her and basically be a pain in the arse. That was who he was, and he did have exes he did that to so Ruari got let off.
Well I will tell you about the band in a minute he told her You gonna tell Uncle Sam you are worrying that pretty little head of yours over? he asked her with a grin Come on, I can be your agony uncle he said is it women’s problems? he asked her. For any other man, it would be embarrassing talking about such a thing but Sam could mention them like it was no big deal. It’s okay, Logan was P.M.Sing this morning because I still hadn’t cleaned my plate off the table from last night he laughed I am used to it he said with a nod. He was making a joke but she probably wouldn’t find it all that funny, being a woman and all, but Sam just found it hilarious, he was so used to joking about anything he didn’t care what he said anymore really and it got him in trouble a little bit. He’d said something like it at work and it hadn’t really gone down too well, he had been given a warning and Sam had got in a huff about it. Some people really did not have ANY sense of humour what so ever. He shook his head thinking about it and tutted to himself.
Is it that sister of yours? he then asked. He knew that Ruari had always had a little trouble with her sister and he actually knew that it was a sensitive subject, he wasn’t going to make jokes about it, well at least he would try but he couldn’t really promise anything because sometimes words just came out of his mouth before he could stop himself, well so he claimed. You know, I do wonder how you put up with her. Could you not lock her window and her door and just ground her? he suggested. He was half joking but he was also being serious as well. She was seventeen and he didn’t think she should be going out and not coming back days later like Ruari had always said she was doing, even Archer wasn’t that bad, he never had been, well maybe occasionally, he was borderline and they did all keep an eye on him though.
She needs one of those microchips pets have so you can track her he said. Or if she has that ‘find iphone’ app...well if she has an iphone, you can track her with mobile me or something like that. I don’t really get that though he said. Now what was I going to say? he asked Ahh yes the band... he nodded Well.... he said The band is good, we’ve had gigs this week but we’re just wanting to be signed. We’re hoping something comes up soon, we had someone interested it just depends if it is a good deal or not you know? he said Just imagine, soon you might be able to say you dated Sam Heath from McFLY and you’ll have loads of jealous girls after you he grinned at you Hopefully I will have loads of girls after me too he winked. Now what have you been doing recently? he asked casually taking a bite of his muffin and a sip of his drink and putting his feet up on the chair next to him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CAN WE PRETEND THAT AIRPLANES IN THE NIGHT SKY ARE LIKE SHOOTING STARS CAUSE I COULD REALLY USE A WISH RIGHT NOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was a horrible feeling. Every time the sun reflected into her eyes, she squinted and felt as if her head would it explode. Normally she was use to drinking, half the time it was only ever a minor headache. Today, it was like she’d been hit over the head with baseball. Maybe she had? Ruari looked up from the table with her chocolate brown eyes. It was hard to lie but she didn’t really like people knowing her business. Gently she tapped her fingers on the table and looked at him, “I’m sure. Kinda” Reaching forward Ruari took a bit of his muffin and popped it into her mouth and smirked. She couldn’t help it, she always took peoples food. Especially if she felt hungry, and besides, everyone should share food with others. Only because she said so. Tilting her head she cocked her eyebrow and frowned. It was obvious something was eating away at her, and normally she made all her problems noticeable. Which was always an accident, she never intended to make it obvious she was upset, or having some sort of emotional breakdown. Ruari mumbled slightly and tapped her fingers against the table again. She hated hangovers, especially this hangover. This was like the mother of hangovers. Ruari pulled at her messy bun in an attempt to make it messier than it usually was.
Looking at him she laughed slightly and gently kicked his shin, “Shut up Uncle Sam, It’s fine. I’ll cope” What really annoyed her was when she was annoyed or upset, and someone broke that mood and made her laugh. Mostly it only annoyed her when she was angry at someone. “I don’t need an agony uncle” On the inside, Ruari just wanted to babble on about how she can’t remember anything that happened at the party and the fact her sister had disappeared last night and never come home this morning. What really annoyed the crap out of her was that Ceira had promised she’d come home, and she hadn’t. Well, at least she knew that Ceira hadn’t died or anything. She’d be back in her own time, which mostly annoyed her. Shaking her head she smiled, “Same old Sam” She stated loudly, he was always messy. Messy lazy really. Ruari was quite messy herself, but normally her room was reasonably tidy. It had recently occurred to her that she was a bad sister for not telling Ceira was right and what was wrong. She was nearly eighteen, and she knew if she pushed her sister into doing something she didn’t want to do she would probably move away and never come back, and ruari didn’t want that at all. In a way Ruari could never win and she really wanted to help her little sister have a good and long life, not seeing her out every night drinking till she was so drunk she wouldn’t remember what happened. In a way though, that’s what Ruari did half the time.
Almost immediately he guessed what has bothering her, and Ruari looked at him and nodded. She’d be bothering her all day, and she didn’t have any idea where she was staying. “No, knowing her she’d probably dig a hole in the floor and escape.” It was obvious really, Ceira always escaped, turn your back for two seconds and she was gone and you wouldn’t be able to find her. "Well, if I was to stalk her or anything like that, she'd probably never go home, and I promised mum I would always look after her. Of course I'm not doing a good job, and I can't set an example seeing as I'm partying as much as she is." The only thing that was in her mind right now, was when the next party was, she really wanted to get out there again and have a good time. Everyone knew about their band, and Ruari had always taken an interest in the band. She nodded and took a sip of her coffee, "Well, you'll probably get signed soon, your an awesome band" Putting her coffee on the table she leaned back into her seat. A small laugh escaped her lips when he mentioned the girls. "Oh yeah, I'll just brag about it shall I?" Ruari looked at her phone and picked it up and put it in her bag, she couldn't just leave it on the table. "I've been ok, really bored though, went to a party last night and yeah.."

Kinda? he asked her and he then looked straight at her. He wanted to make her feel better, even though people thought that he wasn’t very nice, he treated his friends well at least, he wasn’t usually rude to them and he never wanted to be rude to them either. He didn’t mean to be rude most of the time anyway, but that was just how he was, people didn’t like it and they would just tell him what they thought or left it, but a lot of the time it was misjudgement. It pissed him off sometimes but he was mostly care free about it. surely you can’t be kinda ok he said you gotta be one or the other right? he grinned at her. I guess you COULD be in between he said better to be happy though, that is what I prefer to hear he smiled at her, hoping he would get a smile from her. I know you want to smile just a bit he smiled Sam can never fail to make someone smile he said proudly That is a fact, you know as well as I do, well you should do anyway he shrugged and then looked at her again.
I KNEW I would make you smile he grinned genious I am, pure...genious he said nodding, proud of himself that he was actually making her smile. Sam never failed with that. OH yeah? How would you cope without me though? he asked grinning widely and raising an eyebrow. The answer, is simple, you would not cope, not at all would you? he went on. He was playing around but he liked to think that he was missed by her at least; other people would miss him if he wasn’t around, the world would not be as fun without Sam around and it would not be as good, well that was what he believed at least. Of course, you wouldn’t want it any other way though would you? she asked her. Come on, be honest, you wouldn’t have me any other way,I am just way too awesome the way I am he was going on about himself but she was probably used to it, he often did that, though he wasn’t self obsessed, or self absorbed, he said it more as a joke than anything really and he was sure that she would know that, they had known each other long enough.
Haha that sounds a bit like me when I was a kid he laughed. Sorry, not funny huh? he cringed slightly Sorry. See, he could be polite, he was able to apologise, it just did not happen very often and when it did, people would be happy he was apologising. He had been brought up properly, but he had just become a little rude. He shook his head when she said that she wasn’t setting a good example, he was going to to try and be really nice right now and actually give some really great advice and actually be serious and give a compliment not involving a girls looks. No he said shaking his head. You know why? Because you’re, what...three/four years older, and you don’t seem to party THAT hard, it doesn’t give her an excuse to do the same really if I am completely honest with you he said. Hopefully, and thanks, I know we are he winked at her Yes! Yes brag about it to EVERYONE AND ANYONE you know he grinned. Oh yeah? he said when she told him he went to a party the night before. hangover huh? he smiled or did something happen? he asked. He was nosey but he wasn’t going to apologise.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CAN WE PRETEND THAT AIRPLANES IN THE NIGHT SKY ARE LIKE SHOOTING STARS CAUSE I COULD REALLY USE A WISH RIGHT NOW - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sometimes people asked her how it felt to have a delinquent for a little sister, and Ruari found this offensive. There was nothing wrong with her sister; she was just going through a grieving stage. There was nothing wrong with it! Well maybe the fact she disappeared for days and never bothered to text, or call. She nodded at his words. It had been a while since she let her emotions free, normally she would just bottle everything up and drink her sorrows away. It was a coping mechanism of hers, and it happened to work very well for her. For once she just wanted her younger sister to listen to what people would say. Encouraging her to lead a better lifestyle, not worry her older sister to death and stay out for days on end. Ruari wrapped a long strand of blonde hair around her finger and starred down at her coffee cup, the aroma of coffee shop was strong but the air was warm. Sam was like that electronic toy dog she had when she was little, you’d turn it on and it would keep barking and it wouldn’t stop. It would just keep going till it either got thrown against a wall, or its batteries died. Although it was quite entertaining, hearing him babble on about everything. Cocking a eyebrow she pressed the coffee cup against her lips and took a generous sip before placing it down, “Never stop talking, do you?” She said with a small smirk. Shrugging her shoulders she tilted her head to the side, “I’m in the middle right now, everything is just a nightmare.” It was tough right now, but she had to pull through and put on a brave face. He was trying to make her smile, and she was trying to mask her smile. A small flicker of happiness crossed her face and she happened to let her guard down, and a small smile crossed over her face. She laughed lightly and shook her head. “You try to hard really, don’t you?”
She nodded, “You can make me smile, but you also can make me frown.” When Ruari and Sam use to be an item, she often went to see him at his, and was always greeted by a messy bedroom. Clothes everywhere, unmade bed. Ruari was a perfectionist herself, but that always clashed with her the drunken Ruari, as well as the hung over Ruari. She leaned over and flicked his nose lightly, “Deflate that big of yours Mr Heath,” She said softly and wrapped her hands around her warm coffee cup. “Are you sure? I think I could cope. Of course my life would be more dull without you, but I’m sure I’d cope.” The blonde grinned and looked around the coffee shop. It was full of middle aged beings, which were all looking for a coffee rush. Ruari had never been into coffee in England, for some reason when she arrived in America, she had to try it. It turned out she quite liked the strong bitter taste of coffee. She laughed and shook her head, “Oh yes, same old awesome happy Sam.” When she had entered the coffee shop, she felt blue and like she was carrying the world on her small pale shoulders. But now, she felt quite contempt. Speaking to Sam would usually do that to a person. He was pretty much filled with happiness, and she’d never really seen him when he was down. She was sure he had down moments though, everyone did and no one was perfect. Were they? He was quite bigheaded, but it was something you learned to love about him. Everyone became bigheaded, maybe not often but some people could be bigheaded about themselves.
Ruari shook her head and frowned at his comment, “Doesn’t really help.” Partying was fine, it was a way to socialize and enjoy yourself, but not coming back afterwards was worrying. It scared Ruari to know her sister was wondering around Point Pleasant after having a night of drinking. She could have done something terrible or made some mistakes! It worried her to death, but she didn’t want to be a burden. But she felt as if she let her mother down, she had sworn that she’d watch over Ceira, but she couldn’t do that when she didn’t know where she was or what she was doing! “I may be older than her, but I still set a bad example by strutting through the front door drunk. What sort of image does that show to my little sister?” Ruari had never done anything stupid when she was drunk, although she did recall one incident. Which she regretted an awful lot. She smirked looking at Sam, “May as well shout it from the rooftops or paint it on my front door?” Maybe it was something to brag about, but no one would care about the past relationship. Who would care? It was in the past. “Hungover. Nothing interesting happened to me last night. I don’t think?” She questioned herself, maybe something could of happened? She couldn’t remember half the night.
