personality: vanna tends to stress out, a lot. actually, most of the time it's over little things that in reality wouldn't change anything. she has a magnetic personality, and despite formerly suffering from bouts of social anxiety-- she can talk her way around. this is actually a fantastic capability as a hair dresser, she can make you want to buy her products. vanna's attitude is extremely optimistic, as she tries to keep everything positive. firmly believing in pma and the law of attraction, that doesn't help her from stressing out. still though, she fakes it to the best of her abilities. although she hates people who run their mouth, as a hair dresser-- she tends to do it herself, she tries to keep the conversaton as positive as possible, but... sometimes her catiness shines through, and she regrets every minute of it.
likes: cosmetology, hair color, cutting, body modification, reading, dancing, cooking, the 1920's-1950's, world war two, machiavelli, de gaulle, jules verne, clothes shopping, thrift stores, novelty items, singing, burlesque, and technology.
dislikes: facebook ( a necessary evil ), mean clients, liars, alcohol, arguing, muggy weather, sweating, bullies, slutty people, napoleon dynamite, sleeping too much, when people unnecessarily worry about what they eat, pencils, and ombre hair color.
strengths: loyal, talented, determined, outgoing, optimistic, friendly, smooth talker, quick witted, positive, strong.
weaknesses: feisty, anger issues, her bulldog grover, her family, acute social anxiety, over-thinks, easily stressed.

history: vanna never expected to become a big named hairdresser, although her mother will tell you differently. vanna was always that kid, she was very much about her appearance. to the point that she would cry if everything wasn't just so. growing up, her aunt moved in with them-- and that was the pinnacle of worse things to happen. she was very much a resilient child, and her aunt did not like that. so she became the bane of her aunt's anger and depression, the crux of her loathing. as she was suffering this abuse, she began to not care about her appearance, and became the center of ridicule that continued up until high school. she was always different, always not quite perfect. she ended up gaining quite a tremendous amount of weight-- she then lost it in cosmetology school.
cosmetology school, as a whole-- completely changed vanna's view of self-worth, and she had a mentor-- a one constant in her life. his name was dylan, and he was a teacher there. she got a job offer to do makeup in germany through the school, and when her mentor decided to move out to california-- she decided it was time for her to make choices for herself. so she spent three years in germany, touring europe doing hair shows with some of the top hairdressers in the world. eventually she got to talking with an old friend from high school, and after that she ended up moving to point pleasant and opened the black street social club salon and tattoo... since then? life has been perfect.[/ul]

nicolette hawthorne was sure of a lot of things, she was sure the sky was blue... she was sure she loved her home... of course, there was a copious amount of things she happened to lack assurance of-- the primary being her best friend jared ateara. they always had been friends, and since her band had hit the big time-- they seemed to distance... breaking away, and the pint-sized girl didn't like it. since she had come home, things felt weird. she couldn't find him easily, not like normal. he wasn't at the usual haunts. even going to jared's parents, they had no idea where their son had went off to... she didn't understand it.
nicolette didn't understand what had changed, was it something she did? did he hate her? her mind raced with possible places for miscommunication, she didn't mean for him to hate her. like usual, she didn't even know if he did-- like usual she expected the worst. for an optimist, nicolette was a true pessimist. looking at the large monitor, she waited patiently for her friend's response. the display picture was him, only covered in tattoos appearing to be a skeleton-- a corpse. still, jared was her friend, and he was probably one of the few human beings that could look attractive like that. maybe the brunette was just crazy.
the twenty year old felt her heart rise up through her throat, at least-- that's what it felt like. she was arguing with herself yet again, an internal struggle. it only seemed to be brought out when jared was around. it felt like her stomach wanted to do flips, but her mind was not rationalizing it. a conversation ran through her head, one she had with her mother.. claiming what she felt was love, or some sort of attachment like that. hence why she felt so uneasy yet perfectly calm around him. nicolette thought it was just she was strongly attached to him, after all... they practically grew up together. nicolette was stubborn, and she was fighting any incling of feelings she had. the reason why when the word 'love' popped into her head, she scoffed it off. calling herself a freak for even thinking such hysterical nonsense.
"i don't hate you. never ever could i hate you."
the words were lit up on her monitor, she just stared at it. picturing him actually saying that, it soothed her worries mildly. biting her lower lip, she stood up and got ready. even if they didn't meet up she still wanted to look good. she let her hair stay in it's loose beach waves, her makeup had been done earlier in the day... not that she actually wore much. the scene had been set, they were going to end up meeting at the beach. sighing softly, she looked at the mirror. she was dressed simple. shorts, a graphic tee, and some flip flops. leaving the house, she glanced around. this neighborhood held such a significance for her and the person she was going to see. the memories were so vivid, seeing the two of them running around the town... causing chaos. just being the weird, quirky kids they were.
arriving at the beach, she came with ice coffees for the both of them. she remembered how his was perfectly. these odd things just went in her memory so well. school was in session, leaving the beach completely empty for the most part. glancing around, she looked for the familiar face that was jared alteara. as he finally seemed to come up to her, she took in who he had become. all the tattoos, the piercings... regardless, tattooed zombie or not-- he was still jared alteara, and he was still nicolette's best friend. handing him his coffee she smiled, "it's good to see you."
