personality: Loretta's personality is a complicated one, While she is fiercely independent at times, at others, namely when her boyfriend Mark is involved, she is totally submissive and dependant. She is highly protective of her family, and that is something that never changes. There is nothing she will not do to provide for her family, and her determination for this is obvious at times. At other times, her fun loving side emerges. She finds there is little more amusing than going for a stroll all tied up in whatever way her boyfriend decides to leave her when he heads off for work of a morning, the looks and comments she gets when she walks around in public with, for example, her hands tied behind her back and to her collar are hilarious to her. When the fun is over though, Loretta is an incredibly hard worker, and currently holds down two minimum wage jobs just to put some food on her family's table.

father: Unknown
siblings: Ellen Underwood (deceased?).
significant other (s): Mark and Ceva
pets: None, unless her child counts.
hometown: New York City
history:
Loretta's childhood is not a subject she enjoys talking about, and with good reason. Her mother was a meth addict, who had turned to prostitution to feed her habit long before Loretta was born. From an early age, her mother was perfectly happy to let her clients have their way with her daughter, to a point and for a price, regardless of the affect this had on the girl, and her sister, Ellen. Ellen was three years younger than Loretta, and suffered just as much as her older sister, if not more. When Loretta was seven, her mother was finally offered enough money, and both Loretta and her sister were left in a room with a drug dealer, while her mother sat and smoked. This was only the first time that the pair were raped.
When Loretta was fourteen, and her sister eleven, things finally became too much for the younger girl. Ellen left the family's run down apartment in the night, and was never seen again. no body was ever found, but then again, no-one really looked. She was never reported missing, and neither was Loretta. She left home the day after Ellen, with nothing but the clothes on her back, and fell into the first bottle she could steal. She spent a few months moving from one abusive older male to the next, trading her body for drink, cigarettes and a place to sleep, until she met James, a man twice her age. He caught her one day, shoplifting bottom shelf vodka from a less than reputable store, and he made her an offer she couldn't refuse. If she gave herself to him, willingly and completely, he'd give her a home, food and drink, all for free. She didn't even hesitate. Within an hour, she was in his house, wearing a collar.
She was with him for six months, living as nothing but a slave. Things didn't start too badly for the flame haired fourteen year old, she was happy to cook and clean for James, and in the early days with him she even learnt to make her own clothes; dresses that should never be worn outside the bedroom, but clothes nonetheless. things took a turn for the worse after a few months though. James lost his job, and took out his frustrations on the young girl. Things came to a head in her sixth month with the man she thought she loved, the man who's child she was carrying. She'd walked away from the kitchen to smoke a cigarette, and in doing so, had burnt their dinner. James went ballistic at this, and savagely beat Loretta, breaking an arm and several ribs, before chaining her to his bed. For the next week, he used her as an ashtray, and her screams were ignored. The neighbours only called the police when the screams ceased.
When the police found her, they thought she was dead. After two weeks in hospital, Loretta was sent to a supposedly “safe” home for children, which was where she met Kizzy and Mark. Though there was some good done for her there, including a visit to planned parenthood, The safe home proved to be a nightmare. Following a horrific group session that ended with Mark getting a broken nose and several burn marks and Rita being accused of rape, the trio ran away. They have been on the run for two years now, living wherever they could find shelter, and have now just stumbled upon what could hopefully be their next home. Mark and Loretta had a child together, a little girl by the name of Felicia, around a year ago. Thier firey haired little girl is the pride of Rita's life, there is not a thing she would not do to protect or to provide for the girl.
Loretta is free, for the first time in her life, but freedom is a scary concept for the girl. She doesn't think she can face it alone, and, shortly after the trio went on the run, she gave herself to Mark as she had to James. Mark has collared her, though life with him is nothing like with James. With Mark, she is free to be herself, free to be a mother to Felicia, a sister to Kizzy, and a lover to Mark. They may be fugitives, but Loretta has never been happier.[/ul]

As far as Megan was concerned, this island was absolutely awesome! At first, she hadn't understood what the different wards meant, but now that she knew she could come and go as she pleased, she couldn't think of a word for how happy she was. this place wasn't like Hadley, she wasn't trapped in the same small, fenced in enclosure, like some kind of zoo animal. Here, she had the run of a whole island! With a town and everything! There was no-one to stop her wandering off to the beach to stare at the sea, or into town to harass the locals, she could even go play around in the shops! As she was in ward C, they'd even let her get a job! Maybe she'd go work with Chef Jennings, wouldn't that be awesome?
Today though, she wasn't fussed about jobs. School had been boring, as usual, but now that it was out of the way, the redhead was happy to be out, running through town. She didn't really have a destination in mind yet, but she didn't need one. there was one place she always ended up, eventually, and today wouldn't be any different. Sure, she might waste an hour or so getting there, but she always wound up on the beach eventually. Given her upbringing, always around ships and the ocean, it was far from surprising that she was always drawn to the sandy expanse that lead to the water, even if it wasn't all that often that she caught sight of anything even resembling shipping in the wide expanse of open ocean out there.
It took her about half an hour this time around, but she still ended up out on the beach, as always. With her shoes in her hand, she wandered across the sand, not seeming to care about the mess she was making of her long socks. She didn't really want her scars on show still, she wasn't manic enough not to care at the moment, so they weren't coming off anytime soon if she had any say in it. Smiling, she stepped towards the water, giggling as the sea breeze blew up her dress. There was a ship out there, on the horizon, and no way she was going to take her eyes off of it. Well, not unless something more interesting came along anyway.
