The problem with Jack (open)

Becca laughed. "He actually has the same name as you, oddly enough." she replied, again still oblivious this was the guy she'd been picturing and thinking about pretty much all her life. "His last name in Riley.." she added. "Know him?"

He reacted slowly, as he did most things, but then quickly it hit him and he made it to his feet. She wasn't old enough looking to be a girl he might have slept with last time he was in New York...no that wasn't it.He didn't owe anyone money and...He looked at her intensely, "Becca..Stanley right?" He said. He folded his arm across his chest and bit down on his lower lip. He had only seen a very young school photo of her when she was still in grade school, this definitely was her though. He could tell from the smile and eyes."What're you doing here?" He asked not knowing what else to say and not really thinking.

He knew her name? Creepy..? Just a bit, yeah. How did he know that? Was there some picture of her posted all over the internet that he'd come across? She was confused...Then it clicked. Jack. Was this her..?

She nodded at her name. "And you would be, Jack Riley.." she said, wondering how small this town really was. "I guess, I'm your sister.." she said, still in disbelief as he asked what she was doing there. She shook her head. "I don't know..." she said thinking about it. "I got in a fight with my mom and got on a bus and when asked where I was going, I thought about you and this place and..That's where I ended up." She said simply, unsure of what he'd say. Would he be mad?

He paced around a bit, this was definitely wasn't something that he thought would happen. He knew something was up when he father showed up not for him, but her. He thought it was a bit odd, but that thought hadn't been across his mind since that. "Why didn't you call me-you know he came up here looking for you right? What am I supposed to do- I can't call him, he's an asshole. Are you okay?" He said more concerned now.

He was asking a million questions and she knew he was just as confused as she was. "He's..here?" she asked having only really met her father..their father in pictures of him and her mother..some with her no more than a few months old. Her mother must have thought she'd gone to find him..It made sense after all and Becca couldn't say she'd never asked about him before.

But honestly she hated the jerk as much as Jack did."So don't call him...It's not like I came here in search of him and I'm not going home yet..I like it here..well, what I've seen. Maybe I'll even start school here." She commented, shrugging her shoulders. Of course she was okay. This was Becca Stanley. She was always okay..or at least tried her best to be. "I'm fine just..needed to get away." she told him.

"He was here, I wouldn't talk to him and he left." He said stoping his pacing and rubbing his face. He stood there looking at the ground for a moment, he needed to think. It was funny cause he heard Scott's voice in his head. "Your gonna stay here-with me, "He said outlound though planning in out in his head, " Your gonna start school, and you'll call your mom and let her know your okay." He said finally looking back up at her. He wasn't suggesting this, this was the same ultimatium in a way that he got when he first moved in with Scott.

Becca was about to refuse, but she could tell by his tone there wasn't really a choice. She wasn't looking forward to dealing with her mom, though..at all. "Fine..I'll do it." she said, crossing her arms across her chest. "But there is no reason to go all second father on me..I've lived my whole life without one and don't need one now."

He laughed to himself, those were his exact words to scott all those years back..wow full circle ey? "You don't need to tell me-don't forget I was the first offspring okay?" He said a bit sarcastically.He sighed and shook his head a bit as he shoved his hands into his pockets, "You hungry?" He asked her.

"Maybe the first, but I'm willing to bet that I'm the better one." She teased. "Second times the charm, right?" She was relaxing a bit at the idea now, though he was still a total stranger to her. Then again, it would've been the same if she'd just gotten a roommate, right? At least he seemed cool.

"A little, yeah." She replied, trying to think of the last time she'd ate..Well, minus the junk she'd grabbed from the vending machines at the bus station.

"The second one is usually the freak though, don't forget that." He said with a smile as he pulled his truck keys out of his pocket. He thought about taking her to a nice place to eat but then settled on the diner. She would have to get used to it as he did, living above it and such. "Come on, lets get you some food." He said to her with a motion of his head to where he parked his car.

"Freak? In that case made I'm a third born and there is another one of us nobodies out there.." She joked, seriously hoping that there wasn't.

Nice places to eat...Becca couldn't remember having been to one on a while. There had been one time when she was ten that her mom had won a few hundred in blackjack and they'd gone to some fancy hotel to eat, but she couldn't recall anything since. She didn't eat out a lot, unless you counted pizza take out.

"Yeah, sure." she said picking up her bag and waiting for him to lead the way.

Theys tarted walking to the car, "If there's another one out there I'm pretty damn sure this is gonna be the one that sticks, it's always like that." He said with his hands in his pockets as he walked looking down at his shoes. "So what do you do for fun?" He asked her, trying to get a feel of what kind of person she was.

As they walked, she hadn't expected him to say anything, but then he did and she thought. "Well, I read for one...like you and then, I like to design too. I sort of started a line of clothes about a year ago messing with some of my own stuff and it turned out pretty good, so I started sketching and it kinda went from there. That's what I want to do after high school...get a scholarship and go to design school." She explained, assuming he'd think it was dumb. Her mom sure did.

"That's a good Idea, i was never able to follow through with anything after high school so I opened a bar. Its good you got a goal though." He said. He olnly wished he had finished college, especially at nyu. Whoever asked about him and college laughed at his answer, what kind of person goes for a week and leaves.

"You own a bar?" Becca replied raising an eyebrow. He didn't look a day over 20. How could he have managed a liquor license? "How old are you?" she asked bluntly, very confused. Her bag was starting to weigh the small girl down but she wasn't showing any sign of weakness. She was strong, tough.
