This was what Lance had feared. He was afraid that Rachel would jump to the conclusion and assume it was something she had done. Truthfully she was perfect and would make some lucky guy extremely happy, that guy just didn't happen to be Lance, her supposed knight in shining armor. "Rachel please, it's not you I swear you're perfect. You will make some guy really happy some day. It's me something just changed...it's not the same anymore and i'm not gonna lie to you or myself about trying to make this relationship work." He said quietly looking at her with sorrow in his eyes. He was truthfully broken hearted by having to do this to her. He wanted to walk over to her and wipe the tears from her eyes but he knew she wouldn't want him near her.

Rach nodded slowly as she listened to what he said. "I see" she said softly before quickly wiping the tears away from her eyes. "Well i don't really know what else to say.. but here" she said taking off her engagement ring, she handed it to Lance and looked away. She loved her ring so much but she knew keeping it know wouldn't be right, and just remind her of this. "I think you should go.. i just need to be alone right now" she said softly as she stood up and slowly started walking towards the door.

He felt like the worst man in the world. He took her ring and looked down at it and then at her. He knew she had loved this ring he had made sure she would when he bought it for her. He looked at his ring finger and saw that he was still wearing his band. He quietly slipped it off and placed both of them in his pocket. "I'm sorry..." He said quietly as he started to walk past her. He bit his lip as he took one last look at her. She was perfect. She just wasn't the girl for him like he had hoped. He opened the door and said one last thing to her before shutting the door, "Goodbye Rach." He said scolding himself for using the nickname he always used for her. He then shut the door and headed back to his car.

Rach watched Lance walk away and waved a bit when he said bye. She then walked over to the door and closed it. She turned around and looked at her empty house before bursting into tears. She couldn't believe they had just broken up forever.
