Lance had finally gotten over his fear of running into Rachel. The guilt had eaten him enough to where he had finally called her and asked him to meet her at the Cafe for lunch. Lance had been doing pretty well these past few days. He had hung around Kennedy and been able to see his son which was the main goal in his life right now. The little boy had taken a liking to him and he had been in one of the best moods of his life because of it. Kennedy had also warmed up to him more over time. Especially since their night together at the bluff. He would never forget it being able to hold her and not arguing. He finally felt like his life was going in the right way since he ended his relationship with Rachel again.
He stepped into the cafe with simple jeans and a blue polo. He got a booth for two and took a seat as he began the wait for Rachel. He hoped she would show as he needed to apologize for what he had done to her. He gazed at the menu though he already knew what he wanted having been there a million times from back in high school. He began to scratch the back of his head as he started to get nervous having a few people looking over at him giving him the sympathetic look as if he was being stood up.
He hid behind the menu now wiping his palm over his eye applying pressure as he let out a huge breath. He was starting to regret planning this meeting. He didn't need to see Rachel again. He knew he shouldn't be afraid of his feelings coming back for her but he found himself thinking about this as the time ticked by. He was about to stand up and walk out before he looked by the door and his stomach dropped. He quickly sat back down and forced his eyes to go back to his menu. He wouldn't let her see him when his jaw had dropped at the sight of her.
He couldn't be thinking about these things. He needed to keep this in a business manner. He started to force his mind away from Rachel and think of Ryan a smile played on his lips as he thought of his son. The boy proved to be a natural athlete even at such a young age. He was glad he had gotten that trait from him. Though he wasn't going to be that father that only lived their life through their son. Lance had his music career he had to think about so he could give his son anything his heart desired. He heard the footsteps near his booth and found his eyes looking up at his ex as she spoke.

Rach had been surprised to hear from her ex, Lance.. after all these months, she was finally over him and she felt like she was being sucked back in or something. She wasn't sure why she had agreed to meet him for lunch, maybe she wanted closure or something. She entered the cafe wearing dark jeans and a pink lacey t-shirt, as well as black heels, she looked hot and she knew it. It had taken her a while to plan her outfit, she wanted to look good for him. She knew that sounded pathetic but she couldn't help it, she was secretly hoping he looked like shit, so she could talk about her hot new boyfriend infront of him. She smiled as she thought of Lan, they had been having a great few weeks together, and had now been living together for almost a month. She loved living with him, and hoped that if they were ever to break up they could still be roomates. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, which she had curled that day. She walked into the Cafe and saw Lance sitting at a booth. She clink clanked her way over to him, and smiled when she saw him. "Hi" she said, politely.

Lance felt a smile come to his lips as he heard her voice, "Hey." He placed his menu down and stood up. He reached out and gave her a hug even though it was kind of awkward. He was trying to make it as comfortable as always but a hug seemed more suitable than a handshake or something like that. He gestured for her to take a seat across from him before he sat down. He was gonna try and be as civil as possible. He wanted there to be no hard feelings between them because from certain people he had heard she had moved on. He was happy for her though because he wanted her to be able to move on. He took a seat right across from her and tried to think of something to say as the awkward silence set in. He fidgeted around for a second before moving his eyes from the table to look at her, "You look good." He said quietly before continuing, "So how've you been?" He asked getting past his first comment in fear that it would make things awkward but he decided it had sounded good at the time.

Rach awkwardly hugged him back and then sat down across from him. "Thanks, you too" she said as she looked at him. He really did look good, which made her desire for him to look like crap go away. "I've been really good, and yourself?" she asked as she crossed her legs. She was trying to be as civil as possible, but it was hard. It was a bit tense between them and she felt a tad uncomfortable, especially since the last time she had seen him he had dumped her. She wondered if he had moved on yet, or knew about her and Lan. She figured it would come up sooner or later.

"Thanks," Lance smiled as he reached up and scratched at his goatee a nervous habit that had begun over the coarse of his facial hair period. His eyes looked over her as finally took a good look at her. A flood of memories came back to him some good and some bad. He knew he needed this though. He needed to talk to her about the day he up and left her. He knew there would probably be harsh words but the closure would probably help them, but he couldn't notice how damn good she was looking. He cursed these thoughts and forced himself to think of Kennedy and Ryan. He felt fine now that he was thinking of them they were his cure and he was grateful for them. "It's uh..been rough for a bit but I think things are starting to finally look up," he nodded his head as if to reassure himself. The waitress walked around and Lance ordered a water looking over at Rachel to see what she would get. After she ordered he began talking, "So, uh, look I wanna apologize for how things went down between us. That moment keeps replaying in my head. I'm an ass really and truly an ass," he looked over at her with a grin, "I'm really sorry." He said letting the smile slide from his lips so he could let her know he really felt bad for what he had done to her.

Rach ordered a diet coke and an order of fries. She smiled at the waitress and then turned back to Lance as she listened to him talk. "Well i'm glad your okay now.." she said. When he apologized to her she smiled. "It's okay.. i guess. I mean it is now, i've moved on, but it was really hard for a while" she said truthfully. She had many sleepless nights and had cried alot, but she was glad that phase had passed. "I guess it's for the best though.. have you met anyone?" she asked curiously.

"Yeah I heard you found someone. Who's the lucky guy?" He asked feeling happy for her having already moved on. He would have felt even worse if she had still been hung up on him or not seeing anyone because of him. He just hoped this guy was worthy of her. "I also feel bad for not saying anything to you until now but I figured giving you space away from me was probably the best." He shrugged his shoulders knowing his judgment hadn't always been the best but he did what he thought was right. As she asked if he was in a relationship with anyone he shook his head, "Nope, still living the single life I guess. Been working on my new career in the studio." He said smiling as he thought about how his music career was about to take off once he got his album out. He was only half way done though.

"Landon" she said with a smile, as he needed no further explantion. Lance knew who he was and probably would not approve of her choice, but whatever she really didn't care. The two had never really gotten along in the past. When he said he was still single, she was surprised. "Wow, i thought you would have gotten back with Kennedy.. and yeah i needed space, so i appreciate that. Thanks" she said as the waitress came back with their drinks and Rach's fries. She thanked her and took a sip of her diet coke. "How's that going?" she asked, when he said he'd been working in the studio.

Lance rolled his eyes at hearing the name of the guy. He couldn't help himself Rachel knew he hated him. "Nope, i'm still single and not really looking right now," he shrugged his shoulders at the fact that he hadn't gotten back with Kennedy. He looked over at Rachel and took in all the familiar features that he had known so well. His eyes stopped at hers the ones that entranced him. He pulled his eyes away quickly and looked down at his hands that were clasped together. "No problem," he said briefly to her statement about thanking him for space. He figured she didn't want to see him right now but at least it showed that she had moved on and no longer felt that strongly for him. "It's been going pretty good i'm half way done with my album. I used the song I wrote for you back in high school by the way I hope that's okay." He had tried to get the label to not make him use the song but they had said it would easily be a hit.

"Oh okay.." she said when he informed her that he in fact was not back with Kennedy. "Yeah, that's totally cool. I hope that song is a hit" she said with a small smile. She started to eat her fries as she looked at Lance. It felt a bit weird to be talking to him again after all this time. "Want some?" she asked, gesturing to her fries. She hadn't realized the basket would be so big and now felt as though she wouldn't be able to finish them.

Lance knew she was probably surprised he wasn't back with Kennedy. After all she had thought that had been the reason he had left her. He was kind of glad that he got to prove her wrong in that sense. Sure he was in love with Kennedy right now but he wasn't going to rush into anything and have it crash and burn like it did before. Love came with time and at this point he had all the time in the world. As she gave him her approval to use the song a smile spread on his lips, "Thanks and I hope it is too. I only have a month left to finish everything up before it's released here early." As she offered him some fries he shrugged his shoulders and said, "Sure." He reached over and grabbed a few. "It's great to see you again," there. He had finally said it. It actually had been refreshing to see her again especially since she had gotten over him.

"You too.." she said softly as she ate a few more fries. It was actually nice to see him again, it felt as though this would be there final time seeing each other. Closure.. it was a good thing. "So what else is new in your life?" she asked as she felt her phone vibrate in her purse, meaning she had a text message, she ignored it and looked back at Lance.
