Lance nodded his head. He had gotten a new cell phone and had changed his number from back in high school. "Yeah here let me give it to you." He said meeting her half way and looking at her background. He felt his heart fill with pride as he looked at their son, "Well not to brag or anything but we did a hell of a job making a good looking little boy." He said smirking not even letting his eyes go to Kennedy. He was still looking at the picture of his son, their son. He typed in his number for her and let her do the rest from there. He went to grab his phone out of his pocket and felt a piece of paper. He curiously pulled it out of his pockets and read it. As he read it he remembered this was the prescription for Kennedy that she had asked him to hold on to. He held it out for her, "Here, it's your prescription you had wanted me to hold on to." He said answering her look of confusion. He then opened his phone and on the background was a picture of him and Rachel. He was about to hand it to her to let her type her number but quickly retracted it, "Uhh yeah so you haven't changed your number right?" He asked hopefully as he looked over at her. He didn't want to give her the phone and have her see the background and stir any emotions within her whether good or bad. He reached up and scratched the back of his head a nervous habit he had had since back in high school. He knew Kennedy knew it well and quickly brought his hand away from his head and shoved it into his pocket. (heh sorry it's short )

She smiled proudly thinking of how handsome her son had been, she just didn't like that he looked so much like his father still. She had hoped he'd be blonde and look somewhat like her, and here came the dark hair with the gorgeous little eyes. She knew that when her son reached the age where he could date there would be trouble, but she just hoped that was one aspect he could be different than his father on. There was no way she wanted to have to deal with her son getting some girl pregnant, not until he was old enough to have completed college and have a good career. She had high hopes for her son, whether he completed them or not had been another thing.
She looked down at the prescription in his hand not remembering getting anything, he must have signed her out of the hospital because she'd been too under the weather (or that is how she put it). "Uh, thanks?" She said folding the paper back up and holding it in her hand. "I'll make sure to pick this up." She nodded wanting to let him know she wouldn't forget them as she watched him pull his phone out. She took hers back when he'd been done with it glancing at the screen, her heart somewhat pounding faster since she'd gotten his actual number now and was free to call anytime. For some reason that made her feel a lot better about this whole thing, but then again it sort of upset her that she'd had the same number for so long and it wouldn't have worked if she needed to get intouch with him for some emergency or whatnot. The man could send checks but not an updated phone number?
"Nope, never had a reason to." She said figuring he'd changed his number so she wouldn't call him and he could live his life with Rachel, but Kenn had nobody she'd been hiding from so she'd kept the same number. Plus after her mother died her relatives had memorized that number so changing it on them now would just be cruel. "So I guess this is it, huh?" She asked as she leaned against the door so she could hold it open for him.

"No problem." He said quietly as he nodded. He then let out a quick sigh of relief as he quickly pocketed his phone. He made a mental note to change that the next time he would see Kennedy. It was against his better judgment to let her go on her own but he was pretty sure she wouldn't want him around anymore. Lance looked at her concerned for her well being but stayed quiet as he then took a step towards the open door. "Yeah I guess this is it." He got outside of the door and didn't care if anyone saw them. Even if Kenn wanted to keep this between them he knew the chances of them running into someone who would know Rachel was slim to none. "I have one more thing to say." He said turning on his heel to look at her, "Please, call me when you get home just so I know you're ok. That's all it doesn't have to be a huge conversation just to know you're alright." He said looking at her hoping she would keep this promise. He didn't want to do this to charm her he was genuinely concerned for her well being.

She had no idea why he was trying to feel concerned for her, she'd been away from him for so long and many things had happened in that time, and yet he was never there for her then. This time is was probably just because he'd felt like it'd been his fault since she'd been trying to get away from him. She wondered if she would have done it on her own, through no fault of his, if he'd be as worried and want an update. He was already out the door so that meant he was going to leave, so now was not the time to draw him back into another arguement especially in the hallway where anyone could hear them. "Of course, i'll call you when I get home. Yup, bye Lance." She said not giving him a chance to say anything else as she got out of the way of the door and shut it on him. Their conversation had been done and she wasn't going to call, so that was that she supposed.
She walked back to her bed and let her body fall to the pillow over the sheets as she pumped her hand into a fist and punched the bed underneath her letting a silent scream into her pillow for having been put in this situation. After the scream she turned on her side so she could see the window where he'd been standing, and a somewhat sly grin started to appear on her face as she just lay there this time looking at the other side of the bed where he'd been laying. Something about having his body there made this bed much more comfortable, so of course she scooted more towards the middle so she could put her head on his pillow and it didn't take long for the relaxed Kennedy Adams to be fast asleep sleeping off the headache.
