Oliver was exhausted having decided to stay after practice an extra hour to get some more laps in. He felt his muscles ache as he slowly made his way to the locker room. He quickly changed to make sure he would catch the girls swim team leaving their practice. A mischievous smirk reached his lips as he thought about Sarah, a member of the girls team he had set his eyes on. He slipped a beanie on over his shaggy hair, stood up and slung his athletic bag over his shoulder, and headed out the door just in time to see the girls team leaving in a cluster. "Hey Sarah, wait up!" Oliver called out a charming grin lingering on his lips as she turned to see him jogging towards her. He pulled her away from the rest of the group by offering her his hand, which she took happily. "Hey, walk me back to my dorm?" The endless possibilities of what could happen once they reached her dorm were already streaming through Oliver's mind. He knew he could sweet talk her into getting his way and planned on doing just that. "Anything for you," he said sweetly, keeping his ulterior motives to himself, as he opened the door and lead her out in the direction of the Quad.
Oliver dropped her hand at the first sign of people and instead slung his arm over her shoulder pulling her close to him as they walked. Oliver could hear her talking, but wasn't entirely paying attention. The one bad thing about Sarah was that she could talk your ear off. Why did all the pretty ones have to be so damn annoying? They all never met his expectations the way Charlotte had. Damn, there he went thinking about her again. He inwardly scolded himself shaking his head a bit as his eyes wandered to all the people scattering the quad. He was nodding every once in a while to satisfy Sarah into thinking he was listening. They were approaching a few benches and he began to take notice to a beautiful blonde sitting by herself with a bunch of books stacked next to her. Oliver squinted his eyes, trying to get a better glimpse of the girl before he was bumped in the shoulder. "So, what do you think?" Oliver's eyes slipped back down to the girl that was practically glued to his side. "Huh? Oh yeah, whatever..." his voice trailed off, having lost interest in anything she was saying, or even going back to her dorm right now. All he cared about was figuring out why the blonde looked so damn familiar to him.
They were now passing the bench the blonde had been residing on and he could now easily see who it was. His heart stopped, she had to have seen him with this girl. Whom had now wrapped her arms around his midsection trying to regain his attention. "I have to...," his voice trailed off again unable to put together a whole sentence, as he removed his arm from around the girl and pulled her arms off of him, "go." He finished leaving her a bit dumbstruck as he turned on his heel to head back to the bench they had passed a few feet back. He wished he had thought this all through because with every step that brought him closer to her the more he began to regret his decision. He wanted to be happy to see her having missed her horribly since she left those four years ago, but his pride and downright stupidity was causing him to go over to her with a big chip on his shoulder.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Charlotte Brighton," he was pretty shocked to see her here of all places, but he wouldn't let her see any surprise in his face. The grim tone also let her know that he wasn't at all happy to see her, "How've you been, Charlie? Long time no see." This time his tone taking on a sarcastic sing song manner as he tipped his head to the side as if showing interest in what she had to say. Oliver blamed her for everything, even if it hadn't been her fault, it had been easier that way. Through all his anger he hadn't taken notice to how beautiful she had become in the years of not seeing her. He hadn't even thought it possible that he was now even more physically attracted to her than he had been back in high school. His face had softened with this thought, but he quickly realized what had happened and quickly furrowed his brows and spat out, "What the hell are you doing here anyways?" He had to make up for that slip up not allowing himself to revert back to the nice guy he used to be around her.

There's a fire starting in my heart, Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark Charlotte enjoyed Point Pleasant Florida. It was far different than her life in New York City or Boston. New York had been filled with wealthy people who constantly judged others by what they were wearing and how much they spent in a sitting. Despite the fact that she had come from that lifestyle, she had learned to do everything for herself. Which was precisely why she hadn't panicked when her parents had cut her off from most of her resources. They weren't exactly pleased about her decision to move to Florida and major in something that wouldn't be profitable. She wanted to be a teacher, and English teacher to be exact. But to the Brighton's that was foolish and extremely stupid and because they thought she was wasting her education by moving to a place that offered her a full scholarship they cut her off from any money that had control over. Thankfully Charlotte had managed to create an account in her name where she kept money she received from birthdays or special occasions, even the part-time job she had gotten at a bookstore. And here she was sitting on a bench in Florida entirely by herself. She no longer had parents to rely on, the comfort of being in a city she knew or the friends she had made either in Boston or New York. It felt liberating, which was part of the reason why a small smile had formed on her lips as her eyes scanned the book in front of her.
The book was a collection of famous poems, ones that needed to be analyzed for her early class tomorrow. Crossing her legs she tucked a strand of blond hair behind her ear as she bent her head to concentrate on her work. And yet there was something nagging at her, as if she had forgotten something important. Biting her bottom lip she sighed looking up from the page. This wasn't a usual occurrence for Charlie, when it was something she was interested in it took a lot to pull her out of it. When it came to books this happened more often then not. Yet she fought to concentrate on the task in front of her. With a frustrated sigh she looked up glancing around as people walked down sidewalks, chatting about classes and professors. Some were studying like herself, sitting under a tree or on various benches scattered around the grounds. Watching people walk she leaned back on the bench, her eyes scanning faces to see if any were familiar. There were a few people who knew her and she gave them a smile and a wave from a distance. But no one seemed to stand out. That is until her eyes fell on a couple walking, the girl's arms were wrapped tightly around the man and she leaned on him heavily as they walked.
But what caught her eye was who the man was. She felt her jaw drop in shock. Charlotte had vaguely remembered her parents telling her that he was going to school in Florida, but she had suspected he had gone to Miami considering his partying ways. Charlotte felt her muscles tense as she forced herself not to stare and moved back to the book in her lap. Her eyes scanned the page but her brain wasn't comprehending a word that she saw. The blond tried to refocus, remind herself of who he was and what had happened between them. He had obviously moved on. She managed to get the shock off her face by the time him and the girl approached. And yet he didn't walk over with the girl, she could hear her making a fuss at being pushed aside but Charlie didn't look up until she could see his feet on the pavement in front of her. And still she kept her head bent until she was addressed. By this time she had managed to wrangle her surprise and slight hurt back from her face and instead looked up at him with a pleasant smile on her face. "Fancy meeting you here Oliver." She said keeping her book open as she leaned back on the bench.
Despite her own soft smile she could see he was less than thrilled at seeing her. His tone said everything, as if she was intruding on his territory and stepping on his toes. She could tell in instant he was back to his old self and that made her feel a twinge of hurt. With her he had toned down his attitude but it seemed that once she had moved he had completely ignored her attempts to reach out and reverted back to his old self. But she still kept a smile on her face as he continued to speak trying to push back the hurt. Overall it was nice to see him, well more than nice, the years had treated him kindly...at least in appearance. That is until he barked a question about her being there, as if she was following him. Rolling her eyes she started to collect her books. "I am just studying here Oliver, English to be exact." She motioned to the stack of books at her side as she stood, again remembering their height difference. Charlotte was the petite blond with a small frame and he was tall and well muscled, thankfully from what she guessed was swimming. Looking back up at him she picked up the large stack of books and started to walk. "There really is no need to take that tone with me." Charlie said giving him a stern look. Sure they hadn't seen each other in a few years, but they could at least be civil to each other despite the fact that she was still angry he had avoided her when she had gone to say goodbye. She had been planning on telling him she would visit every weekend and that she loved him. But now she just felt bitter and angry. Pressing her lips together she looked at him. "You look well, still swimming?" Yes, civil was best. She had to make sure to keep her distance from him as they walked along, she hated to give him the wrong impression. After all she felt nothing for him now...right? TAGGED ! oliver.LYRICS ! rolling in the deep - adeleWORDS ! 1086OUTFIT ! here with flatsCREDIT ! MEELA! on CAUTION 2.0!
