Blake shrugged, feeling his heart break yet again. "Then I can't bring myself to sign these papers" He said seriously once again straight to Ava, then looked to Jack once more "Sorry again." he added bitterly before heading for the door.

Jack watched him walk away and then moved to sit down in the front pew. When he came back the last time to try and win Ava back he was turned down similarly. He could understand what he was feeling now..but it wasn't fair. They finally got everything together, finally made it to a church to finalize it and then he shows up. He looked down at his shoes and tried to collect his thoughts, waiting for someone else to say something so he didn't have to. He was angry and acting out now wouldn't help the situtation.

Was she supposed to follow him? She didn't know. She turned and watched as Jack sat down in a pew and sighed. Why couldn't things just be simple for once and everyone just be happy? She looked at Jack again. He hadn't said a word through any of this and she guessed he probably hated her. "I'm...sorry." she said to him, though she couldn't meet his eyes. Blake hated her and now probably Jack did...

He looked up at her with a small smile and shook his head lightly." You didn't do anything wrong, why are you apologizing?" He asked though not looking for an answer. He didn't really know what to suggest to her right now, did she go after Blake and fix things? He leaned back and scooted over as he glanced over at her, "We'll get through it." He said with a grin over at her.

Ava could feel her eyes filling with tears and shook her head, as if to shake them away somehow. "How do you know that?" she said to him. "I mean, just when things start to happen for us, something like this happens...always. It's always like this." She shook her head again and brush some loose hair from her face. "What if this is all we'll ever have? What if it's some sort of cosmic sign that this isn't meant to happen?"

He stood up and took a step closer to her and took her hands in his, " Then it's a good thing I don't believe in any of that. Ava nothing is keeping me away from you now, not him, not any cosmic whatever- this is it for me, your it and nothing will get in the way of that." He told her.

Ava looked at him and shook her head, but this time a smile broke on her face. "It's too bad that I didn't write those vows down since I'm apparently going to need them again.." she said, trying to lighten the mood a bit. She gave a small laugh, her thoughts drifting to the papers. Would things ever really be over?

Blake walked to his truck, opened the door, got in, and placed the divorce papers that he was served by his own father once he got back home. Tears started to well up in his eyes, Blake knew he had finally officially blown it with Ava, and what he just did in the church probably made it worse. He knew he acted like an ass. So he looked at the papers once more, hating everything they stood for. As he looked them over the tears started to slowly roll down his face. Blake pulled a pen out of the glovebox and quickly signed the papers before he could stop himself again. He got out of the truck and placed the papers infront of the door of the church and banged on the door, then quickly got into his truck and peeled out with tears in his eyes and his stereo blaring Dashboard Confessional.

Hearing a knock, she got a confused look on her face and turned away from Jack. She walked down the aisle again until she reached the doors and opened them. She looked around just in time to see Blake drive away. She crossed her arms and sighed, her eyes falling to the ground. There they were, the papers. She bent down and picked them up, coming across the line that read "husband's signature". He'd signed. She felt tears well in her own eyes and she held the papers tight to her chest. There was a sense of relief and joy, but also sadness. Where had things changed between them? She couldn't help but feel like she'd failed him.

She held the papers close as she walked back inside. "He signed." she said to Jack, knowing he'd be wondering what the knock was about. "It's done."

"That's good right?" He asked with a small smile as he took a few steps closer, his hands in his pockets. Maybe they would get their chance tonight like planned. " I have a feeling the old man's still here if you uh wanna continue." He suggested as he remembered the priest walking towards a door that lead into the back of the church.

"It's good." She agreed, smiling at him. There was nothing she wanted more than to start a life, a family, with Jack. She couldn't wait. They'd waited too long. "You do know they don't like being called "the old man", right?" she teased with him, before adding. "I want this. Let's do it."
